A fast-drying ink-receptive sheet having a coating comprising a blend of from about 35% to about 85% of at least one hydrophilic liquid absorbent polymer and from about 15% to about 65% of a polyethylene-acrylic acid copolymer, having a preferred acrylic acid level of at least about 10%; such coating can be used alone, or preferably such coating is part of a coating system also including an ink-transmissive upper layer which provides improved mud-cracking properties.

Transparent sheet capable of receiving oil-based inks from impact ink transfer printers that use fabric ribbons. The sheet of this invention is non-tacky, and comprises a backing bearing on at least one major surface thereof an ink-receptive layer, capable of receiving oil-based ink from a fabric ribbon, said layer comprising a polymeric material having a Hansen dispersion parameter from about 10 to about 20 J.sup.1/2 /cm.sup.3/2, a Hansen dipole parameter of less than about 6 J.sup.1/2 /cm.sup.3/2, and a Hansen hydrogen bonding parameter from about 8 to about 20 J.sup.1/2 /cm.sup.3/2. The ink-receptive layer can also contain particulate material.

Receptor sheet for impact printers

Receptor sheet suitable for thermal mass transfer printing. The receptor sheet comprises a polymeric backing bearing on at least one major surface thereof a wax-compatible, image receptive layer having a softening temperature in the range of about 30.degree. C. to about 90.degree. C., the surface of said image receptive layer having a higher critical surface tension than the donor material of the donor sheet from which pigmented wax is transferred to the receptor sheet to form images thereon. A preferred receptor sheet comprises a backing made of polyethylene terephthalate and an image receptive layer formed from a blend of a wax and a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate.

Receptor sheet for thermal mass transfer printing

Transparency film for use in a plain paper electrostatic copier. The transparency film comprises (a) a flexible, transparent, heat resistant, polymeric film base, (b) an image receiving layer carried upon a first major surface of the film base, and (c) a layer of electrically conductive material carried on a second major surface of the film base. Where necessary a primer coat is interposed between the image receiving layer and the film base and/or between the layer of electrically conductive material and the film base. A protective coating is preferably applied over the layer of conductive material. This film can be used in either powder-toned or liquid-toned plain paper copiers for making transparencies.
