Overspeed control for a vehicle drive system

A supplementary hydrostatic front wheel drive for a motor grader or the like utilizes pump flow from an already existing implement system as the source of supply to operate the drive wheel motors. The drive wheel motors are of the variable displacement over center type, and the system provides equal flow to both drive wheel motors to establish a synchronized rotational speed of both drive wheel motors. The displacements of the drive wheel motors are responsive to vehicle ground speed. The drive wheel components may include friction driving means which are responsive to the primary vehicle drive system.

Auxiliary hydrostatic wheel drive

A method to provide a sealingly bonded filter housing comprises the steps of bonding a first end member to a first end of a body portion, forming an aperture in said body portion, and bonding a second end member to a second end of the body portion, to provide a sealingly bonded filter housing.

Friction welded filter housing

An earthworking device comprises a support member having a work tool, such as an earthworking tip, detachably mounted on a forward end thereof. A pin is disposed in aligned bores formed through the support member and the work tool and a spring clip straddles the pin in locked engagement therewith. The spring clip is substantially encapsulated by an elastomeric member which aids in maintaining the spring clip in frictional engagement with the pin. The spring clip may comprise a 'hair pin' or U-shaped configuration.

Spring clip retaining means for earthworking tips

A heavy vehicle, such as a tractor scraper, has oil cooled front disc brakes, and oil cooled rear disc brakes that may be used alone or in conjunction with the front brakes. A rear brake cooling circuit and a front brake cooling circuit, each of which has its own pump and heat exchanger, are cross-connected through a common reservoir, and both pumps and heat exchangers function whenever the rear brakes are applied. The rear circuit heat exchanger is an oil cooler with a fan, the motor for which is driven from the pump output and discharges to the cooler; and the motor may drive a bypass pump which draws some oil from the return line and passes it through the cooler.
