Apparatus for positioning an object includes a fixed vertical frame and a carriage to support the object. The carriage includes a first end with rollers to engage the frame and a second end with a bearing to engage a floor or other surface. Also at the second end is a gate which can be moved from a position wherein it is parallel to said carriage to a position wherein it is perpendicular to said carriage. A drive operates a cable linkage to move the first end of the carriage along the frame and to rotate driven wheels in the bearing to move the carriage between vertical and horizontal positions.

Apparatus for positioning an object

A mechanical electronically controlled nursing apparatus for neonatal piglets which is capable of nursing up to sixteen piglets simultaneously. The apparatus operates semi-automatically and includes a refrigerated storage tank with a magnetic stirrer for storing a twenty-four hour supply of liquid feed formula, a pair of heating tanks for heating the formula to body temperature before nursing, and two nipple bars which accommodate four nipples each and are disposed along each side of the apparatus. The nipple bars are supported by nipple bar supports which are pivotally mounted within the apparatus to permit the nipples to be extended through holes provided in the housing of the apparatus for nursing and retracted into the housing to prevent damage to the nipples resulting form piglet play behavior. The apparatus further reproduces the digitized grunting sounds of a nursing sow during each nursing period. Two heat lamps are preferably suspended on each side of the apparatus and powered through receptacles provided on the apparatus. One heat lamp is suspended over a rest area remote from the apparatus and the other is suspended adjacent the nipple area of each side. The heat lamps over the rest areas are turned on between nursing periods and the heat lamps over the nipple areas are turned on during nursing periods to further condition piglet behavior.

Mechanical nursing device for neonatal piglets

A hand cart comprises a truck and an upwardly open container mounted on the truck. The truck has an elongate frame provided at one end thereof with a handle and at the opposite end thereof with a nose, against which the container abuts with projections on the front of the container engaging in openings at the base of the nose, and a manually actuable clip or the like is provided for releasably securing the rear of the container to the frame. With the container attached to the frame, the cart can be used as a wheelbarrow and, with the container removed, the truck can be used by itself. A detachable nose extension and a detachable bag support are disclosed and the truck can be disassembled for flat packaging.

Hand cart

A tool carrier having a first tool receptacle or container and a second tool receptacle mounted on a frame which is made up of a pair of essentially reverse Z-shaped side members joined at the top by a transverse handle and having at the bottom a short vertical leg, the legs being joined by a transverse member. The upper arm of the 'Z' is essentially horizontal and the lower arm of the 'Z' is slanted downwardly and forwardly to form the leg. At the upper and rearward end of the lower arm of the 'Z' an axle passes through both side members and a wheel is mounted at each end of the axle. The first receptacle rests on the cross member and the axle. The second receptacle comprises a number of pockets and depends from the handle. Means for holding the handles of long-handled tools are provided on the upper arm of the 'Z'.
