A stretch laminate and a method for reducing and/or preventing tearing in a stretch laminate, when the stretch laminate is stretched in a stretching direction, is disclosed. The stretch laminate has a perforation pattern. The perforation pattern has at least two columns. A first column has a plurality of pairs of perforations stacked one pair above the other pair. The perforations in each pair sloping in a first direction, and a first space separating one pair from the other pair. A second column has a plurality of pairs of perforations stacked one pair above the other pair. The perforations in each pair sloping in a second direction, and a second space separating one pair from the other pair. The first direction and the second direction may be different. A third space between the columns is no greater than the first or second space between perforation in the pair.

Perforated stretch laminate

A loop material for a hook and loop type fastener is a composite nonwoven. The composite nonwoven consists of a loop layer, a backing layer, and a plurality of bond regions. The loop layer may be a carded nonwoven of thermoplastic crimped staple fiber. The staple fiber may be between 1.5 to 6.0 dTEX. The loop layer may have a basis weight of between 10 and 35 g/m. The backing layer may be a spunbond or spunmelt nonwoven having a basis weight of 5 to 30 g/m. The loop layer may be superimposed face-to-face with the backing layer. The plurality of bond regions joins the loop layer to the backing layer and rendering said bond regions substantially air impermeable. The bond regions comprise between 35 to 55% of a surface area of the loop material.

Loop material for loop and hook type fastener used in a disposable article or garment

The instant invention is a hook and loop fastener device. According to the instant invention, the hook and loop fastener device includes a loop component. The loop component includes a binder-free non-woven material having a bottom layer and a top layer. The bottom layer includes a first bicomponent fiber and a first monocomponent fiber. The first bicomponent fiber comprises the majority of the bottom layer based on total weight of the bottom layer, and the first monocomponent fiber comprises the balance thereof. The top layer includes a second bicomponent fiber, and a second monocomponent fiber. The second monocomponent fiber comprises the majority of the top layer based on total weight of the top layer, and the second bicomponent layer comprises the balance thereof. The bottom layer and the top layer may further include interfiber bonding to form the binder-free non-woven material. The non-woven material may further be island bonded via hot-roll calendering thereby forming a bonded area and a non-bonded area. Additionally, the loop component may include a backing layer bonded to the non-woven material.

Hook and loop fastener device

An elastic composite includes a first nonwoven, a second nonwoven, and two elastic films sandwiched between the first and second nonwoven. The elastic composite also includes a lateral edge portion where the first nonwoven is bonded to the second nonwoven, a lane between the elastic films that is free of the elastic films, and a first bond joining the first nonwoven to the elastic film, and a second bond joining the second nonwoven to the elastic film. The elastic composite may be used as a component of a disposable garment.

Elastic composite

A bicomponent elastic fiber that includes a core formed of an elastic fiber and having a sheath formed of a non-elastic material surrounding the core. The sheath has at least one cut therein extending at an angle to the length of the fiber to expose and release the elasticity of the core elastic fiber. This provides elasticity to the bicomponent elastic fiber.
