A support device is provided for a seat assembly of a golf car. The support device has a base including an elongated shell bounding an interior space. The shell preferably has a first, enclosed end, a second, opposing end defining an elongated opening into the interior space and a sidewall extending between the ends. A support tube bounds an interior space and has a generally bended shape and two opposing ends, each tube end being integrally formed with the enclosed end of the base shell. Further, two mounting brackets are each integrally formed with the sidewall of the base shell and each includes a mounting plate. The mounting plate has a first, generally flat surface disposeable against the golf car seat and configured for attachment to the seat assembly to attach the support device to the golf car. Preferably, a plurality of reinforcing ribs extends between opposing interior surfaces of the base shell. Furthermore, another set of reinforcing ribs preferably extend vertically from a second, opposing surface of the mounting bracket plate such that the bracket has a substantial vertical thickness. Preferably, the support device is provided in both a left-hand configuration and a right-hand configuration, such that one device of each configuration is attached to a separate, opposing end of the seat assembly.

A motorized golf car includes a sing-sheet thermoplastic sunroof having a plurality of hollow stiffener channels formed therein to stiffen the canopy. A first, hollow stiffener channel is formed at the perimeter of the canopy edges, along the front and side perimeters. A plurality of second stiffener channels are formed in the sheet in-board of the first stiffener channel. A first drain gutter, sloped back-to-front, is provided in the canopy, and a second drain gutter, sloped front-to-back, is provided in the canopy to drain water from the top surface of the canopy.

A towing arrangement for towing vehicles, such as golf cars. A pivotable, elongated towing bar is carried at the rear of a vehicle for pivotable movement about a horizontal pivot axis between an outwardly extending, towing position, and a retracted, upwardly extending, storage position. A towing bar gripper is attached to the car adjacent the rear end for releasably gripping the towing bar in the storage position. The gripper is formed by a resilient, generally U-shaped frame having a pair of opposed, spaced apart arms that form a slot into which a gripper bar is frictionally inserted and retained.

Towing apparatus for golf cars

A towing arrangement for towing vehicles, such as golf cars. A pivotable, elongated towing bar having a notch adjacent its outer end is carried at the rear of a vehicle for pivotable movement about a horizontal pivot axis between an outwardly extending, towing position, and a retracted, upwardly extending, storage position. The forward end of the car includes a towing bar receiver in the form of a channel member that is pivotable about a vertical axis and that includes a longitudinal slot for receiving a towing bar. The towing bar receiver includes a pivotable hook retainer member adapted to engage with the hook portion of the towing bar to securely retain the towing bar in position within the towing bar receiver for towing a vehicle.

Windshields are mounted on rod frameworks from the front by means of an extruded resilient plastic member defining two perpendicularly disposed U-shaped cavities respectively for frictionally engaging and holding the windshield edge and the framework rods. To retain the windshield on the vehicle against accidental dislodging by a blow etc., a retainer in the vehicle cowling at the bottom of the windshield in the form of a removable clip is provided. A canopy top is mounted on the framework with an overlying rim that similarly retains the top edge of the windshield.
