Provided herein are copolymers that comprise copolymerized residues of a perfluorotrivinyltriazine monomer of Formula 1.  Preferred Rgroups include, without limitation, &#x2014;(CF)&#x2014; (n=1-6); &#x2014;(CF)&#x2014;[OCF(CF)CF]&#x2014; (m=1-4, p=1-4); and &#x2014;[(CF(CF)&#x2014;O)&#x2014;(CF)]&#x2014; (x=1-3, k=1-5). Preferred comonomers for copolymerization with the perfluorotrivinyltriazine monomer (1) include, without limitation, tetrafluoroethylene (TFE); vinylidene fluoride (VF2); hexafluoropropylene (HFP); vinyl fluoride (VF); EVE; PSEPVE; perfluoro-(long chain vinyl ethers); E; P; PFBE; PEVE; EVE-OH; EVE-P; PDD; and the cure-site monomers BTFB, ITFB, 8-CNVE, 8-SAVE, and the like. Also provided are methods of synthesizing the copolymers and articles comprising the copolymers.

Copolymers of perfluorotrivinyltriazine compounds and methods for synthesizing the copolymers

This invention pertains to a novel fluoropolymer characterized by a dichloroamino-functionalized perfluoroether pendant group that terminates in &#x2014;CFNCl. The polymer so formed is crosslinkable and useful for the preparation of shaped articles and photo-imaged coatings. The novel fluoropolymer can be thermally treated to form crosslinked fluoropolymers with highly stable perfluoroalkylene crosslinks. The novel fluoropolymer is conveniently prepared by treating a cyano-functionalized fluoropolymer with Cl&#x2014;F.

Disclosed herein is a curable composition comprising a polyhydroxy curable fluoroelastomer, a polyhydroxy curative, a cure accelerator and an unsaturated metal compound process aid comprising a siloxane having at least one vinyl or allyl group bonded to a silicon atom. Such curable compositions have a lower Mooney viscosity than do similar compositions absent the process aid.

Process for coagulating fluoroelastomers

Fluoroelastomer gum or crumb is isolated from fluoroelastomer dispersions by the addition of a water-soluble polymeric coagulating agent to the dispersion. This coagulating agent comprises either a homopolymer of ethylene oxide (CHCHO&#x2014;) or a copolymer of ethylene oxide. Specific examples of such copolymers include, but are not limited to ethylene oxide-propylene oxide copolymers and ethylene oxide-butylene oxide copolymers. The viscosity average molecular weight (Mv), determined by rheology, of the coagulant polymer must be at least 500,000 and preferably greater than 2,000,000.
