A method of controlling resynchronization of a source database and a target database may comprise detecting that a connection between the source database and the target database has been restored. Based on the detecting, the method may also comprise identifying a first edit flag for a first row in a first table on the source database. Based on the identifying, the method may also comprise sending the first row from the source database to the target database. Based on the sending, the method may also comprise clearing the first edit flag for the first row.

Per row database resynchronization

Techniques for streamlined commit procedures between synchronized nodes are provided. A request to commit a transaction is transmitted from a first node, where the request instructs a second node to retain any locks related to the transaction. A response is received, from the second node, indicating that the transaction was successfully committed. Upon receiving the response, the transaction is committed on the first node. Upon successfully committing the transaction on the first node, first cleanup request is transmitted to the second node, where the cleanup request instructs the second node to release any locks related to the transaction.

Streamlined database commit for synchronized nodes

An operating system on a source computer system includes a filtered remote journal mechanism that generates a target map of a remote journal to specify where in the remote journal entries will be stored, then generates a vector array that represents the data of interest in the database journal based on specified selection criteria and the target map. The vector array and location information from the target map is then sent to a communication manager, which sends the data indicated in the vector array to the target computer system. On the target computer system, the communication manager reads the data sent from the source computer system and writes the data to the remote journal. The filtered remote journal mechanism may operate on an existing database journal, or may operate iteratively as journal entries are written on the source computer system.
