Laying machine

An apparatus is provided for cutting holes and slicing through a web of formed, filled and sealed product packages in a thermoforming packaging machine. A bladeshaft assembly for a cutting saw includes a hollow tubular housing member. A shaft member extends coaxially through the tubular housing member and has at least one end that extends outwardly of the tubular housing member. At least one bearing member is disposed in surrounding relation to a portion of the shaft member. A seal is provided for sealing around the at least one end of the shaft member. A pulley member is mounted on the at least one end of the shaft member that extends outwardly of the tubular housing member. A tapered fit is formed cooperatively between the pulley member and the end of the shaft member so as to enable a press fit relation between the pulley member and the end of the shaft member. Additionally, first and second gauge points are formed respectively between the pulley member and the at least one end of said shaft member; the first and second gauge points engaging one another so as to establish a predetermined placement of the pulley member on the end of the shaft member.

Bladeshaft assembly for a powered saw or cutting machine

A concrete saw is provided having an engine aligned along a longitudinal axis of the saw frame to minimize the width of the saw and provide a more balanced system. A clutch assembly is attached to a forward end of the engine to disengage the saw blade without stopping the engine. A right angle gear box is provided proximate the driven side of the clutch assembly to transfer driving rotational forces from the engine to a transversely aligned driven shaft. The driven shaft includes drive pulleys mounted upon opposite ends thereof, which are aligned with driven pulleys mounted upon opposite ends of a blade support shaft and linked to one another via multiple belts. This alignment evenly balances the load transfer while facilitating the use of vibration isolators between the engine, gear box and frame. A hydraulically controlled depth stop mechanism is included for setting a maximum cut depth. The engine speed is controlled by an electronic governor. A multi-speed transmission is included to afford high and low ranges for the saw. A single control lever is provided to shift between high and low ranges, between forward and reverse directions, and to raise and lower the saw.

Self propelled saw

A slurry recovery system for a wet cutting saw which includes a watering section, a containment section, a gas-liquid separator section and a discharge section. The watering section contains a pressure gauge, shut-off valve and flowmeter to control the flow of liquid onto the saw blade. The containment section includes a blade cover and bellows which surround the saw blade and form a sawing chamber. A drag bar, which is attached to the lower surface of the bellow, skids along the cutting surface and removes the slurry therefrom. The drag bar includes inner and outer flexible walls that create a vacuum chamber around the saw. The slurry is vacuumed out of the vacuum chamber and conveyed to a gas-liquid separator tank, wherein the slurry and air are separated. The slurry passes to a diaphragm pump and the air passes to a discharge blower. The separator tank includes a blower protector which contains a float and seals. When the slurry level rises above a desired level, the float prevents slurry from passing through an air outlet port. The slurry is drawn from the separator tank, via a diaphragm pump and a surge tank, and is stored in a holding tank for disposal.
