Provided are transplant preservation solutions comprising a polyglycerol wherein the polyglycerol is of a molecular weight between about 0.15 kDa and about 3.99 kDa, methods and uses thereof as well as kits providing said transplant preservation solutions.

Polymer based transplant preservation solution

Herein are provided derivatized hyperbranched polyglycerols ('dHPGs'). The dHPG comprises a core comprising a hyperbranched polyglycerol derivatized with CCalkyl chains and a shell comprising at least one hydrophilic substituent bound to hydroxyl groups of the core, wherein the hyperbranched polyglycerol comprises from about 1 to about 200 moles of the at least one hydrophilic substituent. The dHPGs are for use as agents for the delivery of a drug or other biologically active moiety to the urinary tract, the digestive tract, the airways, the vaginal cavity and cervix and the peritoneal cavity to treat indications such as cancer, which may be useful in the treatment of or the manufacture of a medicament, in the preparation, of a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of cancer, as a pre-treatment or co-treatment to improve drug uptake in a tissue. Furthermore, there are provided methods of making dHPGs.

Derivatized hyperbranched polyglycerols

Embodiments presented herein relate to various polymers. Some of the polymer embodiments are heparin binding polymers. Some embodiments of the heparin binding polymers can be employed to bind to heparin for methods such as separating, purifying, removing, and/or isolating heparin and heparin like molecules.

Polymers for reversing heparin-based anticoagulation

The invention relates to a linear polyglycerol compound, comprising a backbone of linearly linked glycerol residues. This compound is characterized in that it carries a plurality of substituents in the nature of covalently bound sulfates, wherein a degree of substitution of the backbone is preferably between 30 and 100%. A method of manufacturing the compound as well as uses of this compound and similar compounds are also disclosed.

This invention provides the use of a polymer comprising a hyperbranched polyether polyol such as hyperbranched polyglycerol as a serum albumin substitute. Also provided are high molecular weight hyperbranched polyglycerol polymers suitable for a variety of medical and non-medical uses including methods for making such high molecular weight polymers.

Polymer-based serum albumin substitute

Methods for quantitatively measuring the amount of an analyte of interest in a fluid sample are disclosed. The methods involve providing a membrane having an application point, a detection zone, and a contact region, where the contact region is between the application point and the detection zone, and has test particles and internal control particles imbedded within it; contacting the application point with the fluid sample; maintaining the membrane under conditions sufficient to allow fluid to transport analyte by capillary action to the contact region, where the analyte binds to the test particles; further maintaining the membrane under conditions sufficient to allow fluid to transport analyte-bound test particles and internal control particles to the detection zone, where they interact with a detection reagent; and detecting the amount of test particles and the amount of internal control particles in the detection zone. The amount of analyte in the fluid sample is related to a corrected test particle amount, which can be determined, for example, as the difference between the amount of test particles and the amount of internal control particles in the detection zone. Alternatively, the fluid sample can be contacted with the detection zone of the apparatus, and the test particles are mobilized by addition of fluid to the application point. Other methods involve providing a solid phase reactant for an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and contacting the solid phase reactant with a solution containing an initial detection antibody and an internal control antibody. The amount of analyte in the fluid sample is related to a corrected amount of initial detection antibody, which can be determined, for example, as the difference between the amount of initial detection antibody and the amount of internal control antibody on the solid-phase reactant.
