A composite part, such as a stiffener is formed in place. A composite charge is placed on a tool spanning a mold cavity, with the centerline of the charge offset from the centerline of the mold cavity. Opposite sides of the charge are held against the tool as the charge is formed into the mold cavity. One side of the charge is held against movement on the tool while the other side of the charge is allowed to slip over the tool toward the mold cavity.

Method for forming fuselage stringers

A wind tunnel blade () connected to a base () and held in position by a two-piece cuff (). The wind tunnel blade () is formed in a resin transfer molding process in which central, fore, and aft foam core sections () are placed together to form the wind tunnel blade (). Radius fillers () are used to fill the gaps between the outer edge of the foam core sections. The radius fillers () used in the wind tunnel blade () are formed by a braided sleeve () surrounding a number of unidirectional tows (). A tip () is formed separately from the rest of the wind tunnel blade () and is glued to the top thereof. Stacked layers of braided fibers () are used to reinforce the central core section ().

A personal visual system, 3 dimensional enhancer. Designed as a work or entertainment center. Utilizing a monitor or television and concave spherical mirror that reflects a image generated from the monitor to itself, the mirror, and then to the observers eye that receives the enhanced and enlarged illusion of a 3 dimensional image. The monitor is positioned under the table top, and is shielded with co-netic material to keep the user safer from the electromagnetic field. The monitors position also clears the table surface where the objects of the work can be ergonomically positioned.

Level rule

A specially contoured cavity or recess for the precise alignment and retention of a uniform cylindrical level vial in Polycast plastic level instruments or other hand tools. The recess is accurately oriented with respect to tool measuring surfaces during the Polycast molding process. The contoured cavity or recess is dimensioned to tightly receive the level vials thereby accurately indexing the vial in relation to the measuring surfaces. The retention recess has a semi-cylindrical contour and a vial receiving opening defined between a pair of opposed ridges. The ridges include a sloped vial receiving forward surface and extend inwardly into the receiving opening a selected dimension to permit entry and retention of the level vial.

Polycast level instruments with means for retaining level vials therein

A level comprises a frame including a working surface, a level vial containing bubble indicating means and having bubble registry means adapted to register a level position when the longitudinal axis of the vial is positioned in a horizontal plane, and selectively adjustable mounting means for adjustably mounting the level vial to the frame for variable, selective angular alignment of the longitudinal axis thereof with respect to the plane of the working surface whereby the preselected orientation of the bubble indicating means with the register means of the level vial indicates a pre-selected angular relationship of the longitudinal vial axis and the working surface when the working surface is in contact with a surface being measured.
