The present disclosure relates to a system for producing high pressure steam from low quality feedwater for a designated process. The system includes a first closed loop in fluid communication with a boiler and a heat exchanger assembly. A first fluid flows through the first closed loop, and is of acceptable quality for use in a boiler. Heat from the boiler is transferred to a second loop through the heat exchanger assembly. The second loop includes the low quality feedwater, which is converted to high pressure steam. The high pressure steam produced from the low quality water can be used in the designated process. This reduces corrosion/downtime in the boiler that might otherwise occur if the low quality water was directly heated by the boiler.

An economizer arrangement particularly suitable for new or retrofit application to existing steam generators provides a water cooled stringer support tube system which can accommodate firing a wide range of fuels with varying characteristics in the steam generator. The economizer arrangement according to the present invention is particularly suited for retrofit applications to large supercritical steam generators. The use of water cooled stringer tube supports allows for higher flue gas temperatures in comparison to conventional non-cooled mechanical economizer supports. These features are provided in a design which fits within the existing economizer envelope of the steam generator.

An assembly for shipping and supporting a module for a heat recovery steam generator comprises a base having four vertical truss members slidably mounted to the base at one end. Each vertical truss member is positioned a distance apart from another vertical truss member across the base such that four paths of adjacent vertical truss members define a front, a back and two sides. The assembly further comprises at least one level. Each level comprises a horizontal member rotatably attached to the vertical truss members at the front and the back of the assembly. A junction is fixed to each vertical truss member at both sides of the assembly; a side truss member is rotatably attached to the junctions at both sides. An internal grid is attached to the horizontal truss members between the vertical truss members. Diagonal truss members are removably attached to the junctions at both sides of the assembly between adjacent levels such that the diagonal truss members diagonally extend from the junction of one level to the junction of an adjacent level.
