Compositions for and methods of digitally printing an ink image onto a woven textile material are provided. A base application is applied to the surface of a woven textile material, especially one comprising synthetic resin fibers prior to application of an ink image layer. The base application comprises an acrylic latex material that is formulated to be printed on with a digital ink while still wet, thereby eliminating the need for an intermediate drying cycle in between base application deposit and printing of the ink image.

In-line digital printing system for textile materials

Coating compositions that exhibit long-term protection of an ink image against exposure to various elements including water and sunlight are provided. The coating compositions may be used to prevent or reduce degradation of image quality due to exposure to the elements. The coating compositions may also be used as a platform permitting application of images to a substrate by a sublimation transfer process.

Long term protective coatings

A coating-extender and adhesion-promoting composition is provided that comprises a plurality of glass particles having an adhesion-promoting compound deposited thereon. Various coatings, especially inks, can be formulated with the coating-extender composition so as to reduce the coating's requirements of more expensive components such as monomers, oligomers, resins, and pigment.

UV-curable ink formulations are provided that are capable of being cured under low-energy conditions, such as with a conventional mercury vapor lamp operating at half or less of the lamp's nominal wattage or using an LED lamp. Methods for forming a printed ink image on a substrate using the ink are also provided, which permit maintenance of relatively high line speeds while consuming less energy due to the use of lower-wattage lamp settings.

UV-curable ink formulations are provided that are capable of being cured under low-energy conditions, such as with a conventional mercury vapor lamp operating at half or less of the lamp's nominal wattage. Methods for forming a printed ink image on a substrate using the ink are also provided, which permit maintenance of relatively high line speeds while consuming less energy due to the use of lower-wattage lamp settings.

A graphics display system is provided in which a graphics layer is printed upon a transparent substrate. An adhesive is generally applied over the graphics layer so that the graphics display system may be permanently affixed to a support. The graphics layer may be digitally printed upon the substrate using one or more UV-curable inks formulated to provide excellent adhesion to the substrate and resistance to degradation by the adhesive. The inks are capable of curing by UV radiation emitted from an LED array as opposed to conventional mercury vapor lamps.

LED curable ink system for multi colored sub-surface applications

An ink-jettable adhesive composition comprising a polyurethane dispersion and a stabilizer is produced that can be used to form an image transfer system. The image transfer system generally comprises an adhesive layer formed from the adhesive composition, an ink image, and a removable transfer substrate. The image transfer system is capable of depositing the ink image and adhesive layer onto the surface of a textile. The resulting adhered ink image and adhesive layer can produce a durable and vivid image on a large variety of textiles.

Ink transfer system and methods of transferring ink images to synthetic textile materials

A highly durable coating composition particularly suited for use on printed articles requiring protection from exposure to the natural elements, chemical exposure, or abrasion. The coating composition generally comprises a fluoropolymer resin, an acrylic polyol resin and a melamine resin. Optionally, a polyisocyanate crosslinking agent may also be included to accelerate curing of the coating.

Coating system having long-term durability and chemical resistance

Antimicrobial coatings with anti-staining properties that exhibit broad range adhesion characteristics are provided. The coating compositions comprise a mixture of water-borne resins that can be crosslinked through use of a suitable crosslinking agent. The coating compositions can be used on a variety of substrates and are highly flexible, thereby permitting their use on flexible and stretchable materials. Testing has shown the coatings to exhibit excellent antimicrobial characteristics against a broad class of particularly virulent pathogens.

Antimicrobial coating having broad-range adhesion and thermoforming characteristics

Systems and methods for digitally printing images onto substrates are provided using digital inks and catalysts which initiate and/or accelerate curing of the inks on the substrates. The ink and catalyst are kept separate from each other while inside the heads of an inkjet printer and combine only after being discharged therefrom. The system produces high-quality, high-resolution images on substrates that may not normally receptive to low-viscosity digital inks.

Digital printing system

An ink transfer system including an ink transfer decal that is transferable to a final substrate, such as a bare metal or pre-painted autobody part, without use of a separate adhesive. The transferred ink decal is capable of withstanding temperature elevations common during automotive paint baking without significant thermal degradation, discoloration, shrinkage or pealing.

Thermal reactive ink transfer system

A curable ink composition for digitally printing onto plastic substrates that can be formed into three-dimensional objects is provided. Generally, the ink composition comprises a pigment, an acrylic polymer or copolymer, a diluent, and a mono-functional monomer.
