A stepped-frequency radar signal is transmitted through a barrier. A transmitter of the stepped-frequency radar is on a first side of the barrier, a first object is on a second side of the barrier, and a second object that is distinct from the first object is on the second side of the barrier. A signal including a reflection of the transmitted signal from the first object and a reflection of the transmitted signal from the second object is sensed. The sensed signal is analyzed to determine that a first detection is associated with the first object and a second detection is associated with a second object.

Moving-entity detection

Systems and methods for sensing targets on an opposite side of a wall are disclosed. In some aspects, the techniques include providing an indication to a user that portions of reflected radar signals were blocked by radiofrequency-blocking material at the wall. In some aspects, the techniques include identifying candidate targets as multipath echoes or motion-induced errors based on a correlation map.

Detection of movable objects

An explosive detection system includes an unmanned vehicle and a manned vehicle. The unmanned vehicle includes a reflector. The manned vehicle includes a ground penetrating radar. The manned vehicle also includes electronics configured to process radar signals that are reflected by the reflector to detect an explosive device. The manned vehicle follows the unmanned vehicle.

Forward-looking detection radar

A low pressure actuated labeling apparatus (10) for printing, cutting, and applying labels (L) to articles (A). A printing unit (12) prints information on a label, the label being drawn from a roll (13) of continuous label stock. A cutting unit (14) cuts a printed label from an end of the roll with the cut label being deposited on a tamper unit (16) which transports the label to a position (P2) adjacent the article and affixes the label to the article. Guides (26, 28) guide the label between the printing and cutting units. One of the guides (26) includes a plate (102) having spaced slots (106a-106c) in which are installed guides (108,110,112). The guides each include guide arms which are contacted by an adhesive side (Y) of the label. However, the guides are made of a material to which the label will not adhere, thus insuring continued movement of the label.

Low pressure actuated labeling apparatus

A portable firefighting training system is provided that is useful in educating people as to proper firefighting procedures using self-contained supplies of fire extinguishing agents such as fire extinguishers and the like. Class A, B or C fires can be simulated through the use of a portable burner assembly and interchangeable mock-ups simulating burning structures.
