A tissue clipping device and system, and method for clipping tissue are disclosed. The tissue clipping device includes a clip with clip arms that is slidably disposed within a channel of a lock tube. The clip is designed to move between an open configuration in which distal ends of the clip arms are separated from each other for receiving tissue therebetween, and a closed configuration in which the distal ends of the clip arms are closer to each other than in the open configuration for clipping the tissue received therebetween. The tissue clipping system further includes a delivery device for delivering and deploying the tissue clipping device. The delivery device is releasably coupled to the tissue clipping device.

Disclosed embodiments include apparatuses, systems, and methods for driving a needle to facilitate suturing, such as may be performed in a surgical anastomosis procedure. In an illustrative embodiment, an apparatus includes a frame. First and second rollers are rotatably mounted parallel with each other in the frame and are configured to engage therebetween a shaft of a needle formed in a helical shape. The first and second rollers are configured to counter-rotate. The needle is revolvable eccentrically around the first roller responsive to counter-rotation of the first and second rollers. A drive mechanism is secured to the frame and is configured to move the frame.

The guidance assembly is used for precise cleaning of interproximal spaces of teeth. The guidance assembly includes a base portion () for contacting the surfaces of teeth and gum region, adjacent the interproximal space, the base portion being approximately 12 mm in diameter to provide stable contact with the teeth and gum region. A method for manufacturing complex shape memory alloy materials is described. The method comprises generating a particulate form of a shape memory alloy, combining the particulate with a binder, molding, heating (which may include the steps of debinding and sintering), and thermo-mechanical processing. The method allows for the formation of complex shape memory alloy materials that exhibit the desirable properties of shape memory alloys, namely shape memory and superelasticity.

An atherectomy burr has an operating diameter that is larger than the diameter of a catheter in which the burr is routed. The burr may include a polymeric balloon that is coated with an abrasive and that expands when the burr is rotated. Alternatively, the burr may include a polymeric tube that is coated with an abrasive and secured to the proximal end of the burr. When the burr is rotated, the polymeric tube expands by centrifugal force. Alternatively, the burr may comprise a metallic strip wound over a mandrel. When the strip is tightly coiled to the mandrel, its outer diameter decreases. The outer diameter of the burr increases as the metallic strip expands. In addition, the burr can be formed as a wire spring wound over a drive tube. The distal end of the spring is coupled to a nose cone that can move within a distal lumen in the drive tube. The maximum expansion of the burr is controlled by the distance that the nose cone can be retracted into the lumen. In addition, the present invention includes a burr having an indexable outer diameter. Various indexing mechanisms are disclosed for selectively increasing or decreasing the distance between a proximal and distal end of the burr. As the length of the burr changes, the outer diameter of a number of cutting blades is changed to allow a physician to create different sized lumens in a patient's vessel.
