A transducer having an explosion-proof housing with a divider forming two compartments, and the divider having formed therein a well. A magnet and flapper arm arrangement is suspended within the well. A coil winding is fixed in the other compartment around the well so that a magnetic field generated thereby influences the pivotal position of the magnet. Set screws adjustable in the bottom of the well are effective to preset a rest position of the magnet.

A temperature compensation circuit is provided which can be used for span temperature compensation in an electropneumatic transducer system and which includes a constant current generator circuit coupled to a bridge of piezo resistances in a pressure transducer to supply a constant current through one piezo resistance of the bridge to common. The Electropneumatic Transducer System includes a zeroing circuit, a voltage chopping circuit, a linearity correction circuit, a low-current shut-off circuit, and a high-current shut-off circuit to provide hard turn-ons and hard turn offs of the system at the lower and upper ends of the pressure output range or span. The Electropneumatic Transducer System also includes a voltage railsplitting circuit arrangement to minimize the operating currents, and voltages. With these features, the Electropneumatic Transducer System is particularly adapted for use in hazzardous combustible atmospheres where Intrinsic Saftey and accuracy are required.

A differential-pressure measuring instrument includes a pair of diaphragms each subject to a respective fluid pressure. The diaphragms enclose a sealed chamber containing a fill-liquid surrounding a non-magnetic vibratable-wire which is tensioned in accordance with the applied differential pressure. A temperature compensating inductor is connected in parallel with the vibratable-wire to compensate for variationsin the vibrating frequency of the wire due to changes in the viscosity of the fill-liquid with temperature.

A force-measuring instrument of the vibrating-wire type wherein the mechanical components are located at the force-measuring location and the vibrating wire is coupled through a two-wire transmission line to electronic circuitry at a distant location. The electronic circuitry includes means to excite the vibrating wire and to produce a d-c measurement output signal corresponding to the frequency of vibrations. The electronic circuitry further includes function-generating means to establish a closely-linear relationship between the output current and the force applied to the wire. Means also are incorporated in the electronic circuitry for adjusting the zero and span of the instrument, and this can be done without interaction between the adjustments.
