A mobile image capture device is provided that can include an image capture system operable to capture image frames and be configured to: provide a live video stream for display in a viewfinder portion of a user interface that depicts at least a portion of a current field of view of the image capture system; store a video segment from the live video stream in a temporary image buffer that includes a plurality of image frames captured by the image capture system; receive a user input that is directed to the viewfinder portion of the user interface that requests a rewind operation; and, in response to such user input, perform the rewind operation in the viewfinder portion of the user interface with respect to the video segment in which at least two of the image frames of the video segment can be provided for display in the user interface in a reverse chronological order.

System and method for performing a rewind operation with a mobile image capture device

Various embodiments pertain to techniques for proactively delivering navigation options to a user via a mobile device. In various embodiments, one or more navigation options can be determined for the user and delivered to the user's mobile device at a relevant time. Navigation options can be selected based on the user's current location, the user's future plans, the time, and other locally relevant information, such as friends nearby or a nearby favorite location of the user. The navigation options can be delivered to the user's mobile device at a time that the navigation options are relevant.

Proactive delivery of navigation options

Systems and methods are provided for multimodal input collection. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to efficient and intuitive multimodal input collection for mobile devices. As an example, a mobile computing system (e.g., a smartphone, a tablet, a wearable device, etc.) can display a lock screen interface at a display device associated with the mobile computing system (e.g., an initial interface that requests interaction and/or authentication from the user before granting access to applications, etc.).

Systems and methods for efficient multimodal input collection with mobile devices

Provided are methods, systems, and devices for generating semantic objects and an output based on the detection or recognition of the state of an environment that includes objects. State data, based in part on sensor output, can be received from one or more sensors that detect a state of an environment including objects. Based in part on the state data, semantic objects are generated. The semantic objects can correspond to the objects and include a set of attributes. Based in part on the set of attributes of the semantic objects, one or more operating modes, associated with the semantic objects can be determined. Based in part on the one or more operating modes, object outputs associated with the semantic objects can be generated. The object outputs can include one or more visual indications or one or more audio indications.

Sensor based semantic object generation

One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for ordering images for panorama stitching and/or for providing a focal point indicator for image capture. For example, one or more images, which may be stitched together to create a panorama of a scene, may be stored within an image stack according to one or more ordering preferences, such as where manually captured images are stored within a first/higher priority region of the image stack as compared to automatically captured images. One or more images within the image stack may be stitched according to a stitching order to create the panorama, such as using images in the first region for a foreground of the panorama. Also, a current position of a camera may be tracked and compared with a focal point of a scene to generate a focal point indicator to assist with capturing a new/current image of the scene.

Image capture and ordering

Apparatus and methods are disclosed for allowing smart phone users to 'capture the moment' by allowing easy access to a camera application when a mobile device is in an above-lock (or locked) mode, while also preventing unauthorized access to other smart phone functionality. According to one embodiment of the disclosed technology, a method of operating a mobile device having an above-lock state and a below-lock state comprises receiving input data requesting invocation of an camera application when the mobile device is in the above-lock state and invoking the requested camera application on the device, where one or more functions of the requested application are unavailable as a result of the mobile device being in the above-lock state.

Above-lock camera access

Architecture that enables the preservation of label readability in a scene (e.g., map, map tiles, graphical background, etc.) by way of label orientation relative to a fixed heading on a plane or curved surface. After identifying an initial fixed heading, movement of the camera (e.g., zoom-in, zoom-out, position change, etc.) in the scene along that heading without changing the camera heading as measured relative to a fixed point does not alter label orientation. In a mapping implementation, after identifying an initial fixed camera heading over terrain of the Earth, movement of the camera (e.g., zoom-in, zoom-out, position change, etc.) in the scene without changing the camera heading as measured relative to some fixed point does not change label orientation. The orientation of labels may be changed if the heading of the camera is altered, but this change is delayed until camera movement quiesces.
