A roll-coating apparatus and method of using it, the apparatus having a pair of narrow rubber tires mounted to be driven by the roll-coater doctor roll, disposed to transfer a narrow band of coating material along the two opposite edge areas of a board which is subsequently coated throughout the full width of the board by the roll-coater main applicator roll.

Roll-coating method and apparatus

A laminated curtain wall panel is prepared by continuously disposing foam boards onto adhesively coated gypsum sheathing followed by a third layer consisting of a reinforcing mesh and a cementitious binder, as the product progresses on a conveyor. The laminated product is erected by screws which are forced through the panel by a screw gun which disposes the screw head firmly against the gypsum sheathing.

Predecorated gypsum board having an embossed design extending into the paper-covered front face and a utilitarian embossing extending into the paper-covered back face, preferably formed by embossing a laterally extending crepe design in the back paper with longitudinally extending narrow relatively unembossed strips at spaced positions across the width of the paper.

Embossed gypsum board

Drying oils are used to improve strength and durability characteristics of gypsum wallboard paper with many unexpected additional advantages. Applied before board manufacture, critical porosity characteristics are left uninterrupted. Applied after board manufacture, shear strengths are obtained beyond expectations.

Treated gypsum wallboard paper

A gypsum set accelerator, produced by compression milling a mixture of ground gypsum rock and starch, and the addition thereof to an aqueous slurry of settable calcined gypsum such as in the forming of paper-covered gypsum wallboard.
