A grease gun is provided comprises a body having a reservoir connection aperture with an inner portion, an outer portion and a plurality of concentric grooves positioned along the inner portion, a grease reservoir is in communication with the reservoir connection aperture and has a groove in a portion of an outside surface of the grease reservoir, and a retention fastener is received by at least one concentric groove and is in operational engagement with the grease reservoir groove to removably retain the grease reservoir. A method of mounting a barrel to a grease gun is also provided.

Quick connect grease gun barrel and method of use

A portable grease gun with the capability of being attached to either a grease containing barrel or a hose carrying grease from a grease supply container. An adapter may be mounted to the barrel mounting in place of a barrel to couple the grease gun to a hose connected to a grease supply container remote from the grease gun. Alternating plug may be mounted in the barrel mounting and a pumped grease supply coupled to the resupply port on the grease gun. The grease gun includes an output valve which restrains passage of grease at pressure below 30 psi.

Grease gun with remote-feed adapter

A portable grease gun with the capability of being attached to either a grease containing barrel or a hose carrying grease from a grease supply container. An adapter may be mounted to the barrel mounting in place of a barrel to couple the grease gun to a hose connected to a grease supply container remote from the grease gun. A portable grease gun with a dual pressure output capability which can be selectively changed by the user with little effort. The larger diameter plunger is slidable within a plunger retainer. The larger diameter plunger has a bore through them in which a smaller diameter plunger is slidable. The smaller diameter plunger moves when an actuating lever is operated to compress grease in the grease gun. The larger diameter plunger may be adjusted to remain static during operation of the actuating lever or it may be adjusted to move during all or part of the compression stroke of the actuating lever. A high pressure can be generated by movement of the smaller diameter plunger alone, or a high flow volume can be generated by movement of the smaller and larger diameter plungers in unison.

Two stage grease gun

A portable grease gun with a dual pressure output capability which can be selectively changed by the user with little effort. A larger diameter plunger is longitudinally coupled to an extension. The larger diameter plunger and its extension are variable in length by manual rotation of the extension relative to the larger diameter plunger. The larger diameter plunger is slidable within a plunger retainer over a limited range and is not free to rotate within the plunger retainer. The larger diameter plunger and the plunger extension have aligned bores through them in which a smaller diameter plunger is slidable. The smaller diameter plunger moves when an actuating lever is operated to compress grease in the grease gun. The larger diameter plunger may be adjusted to remain static during operation of the actuating lever or it may be adjusted to move during all or part of the compression stroke of the actuating lever.

Airgun body

A blow gun with an extensible wand includes a barrel for receiving and storing the wand. The wand passes through an inner collar and an outer collar, the inner collar mounted to the barrel and the outer collar eccentrically rotatable upon the inner collar. Rotation of the outer collar affects alignment of the bore of the outer collar with the bore of the inner collar. When the misalignment of the bores is increased, the wand is locked in a selected extension from the barrel.

Blow gun with extensible wand

An improvement to a drum drying and mixing apparatus includes a baffle plate arrangement is supported externally of the drum adjacent one end thereof and is inserted longitudinally from that one end into the drum. Baffle plates of the arrangement are disposed in the veil of materials in a drying section of the apparatus. Pivoting the baffle plates about an axis substantially transverse to the direction of the falling material in the veil modifies the veil to create a channel substantially void of material through at least portions of the veil. Hot drying gases moving longitudinally through the veil encounter a reduced resistance to the flow in the channel and divert from movement through the falling materials in the veil to move through the channel within the region of the veil. As a result the heat transfer from the drying gases to the aggregate materials is reduced and the final temperature of the hot drying gases exiting from the drum increases. The arrangement may be used to control the temperature of the drying gases exiting from the drum and advancing to a baghouse filter.

Flights in drums of drying and mixing apparatus are attached with bolts held by bolt cages disposed on inner surfaces of the drums. The bolt cages are formed of channels, the channel openings of which face the inner surface of the drums, and which channels have longitudinal slots extending from ends of the channels into the bases thereof for receiving the shanks of bolts. The bases or base plates are consequently spaced by side walls of the channels from the inner surfaces of the drums, the depth of the channels being such to admit the height of a head of a bolt between the inner surface of the drums and adjacent and facing surfaces of the bases of the channel type cages. The side walls of the cages extend parallel to the slots and are spaced to slidingly accept the width of the head of a bolt across opposite parallel faces of such bolt. The spacing between the sidewalls thereby prevents the rotation of a caged bolt about its longitudinal axis as a result of a nut being torqued onto its shank. The cages are preferably welded to the inside surfaces of the drums and releasably capture the heads of bolts inserted into the slots with the shanks of the bolts extending radially inward into the drums to engage correspondingly located apertures in flanges of flights to be attached. When an apertured flange of any such flight is inserted over respective cages and bolts, and is fastened to the cages by complementary fasteners, such as nuts, the profile of the cage in combination with a protective shielding by the flange of the attached flight substantially eliminates wear on the cages due to material contact as a result of the operation of a respective drum.
