Systems and methods for a high output, high color quality light are disclosed. In some embodiments, such a light may include a light fixture including one or more LEDs configured to output a cumulative light output; wherein the cumulative light output comprises an intensity of greater than or equal to 10,000 lumens; and wherein the cumulative light output comprises a CRI of at least 90.

Systems and methods for high output, high color quality light

A light fixture including at least one LED emitter and at least one LED power-circuitry unit within an enclosure formed by a base and a cover movably secured with respect to the base. The at least one LED emitter is secured with respect to the base and in thermal communication therewith. The at least one LED power-circuitry unit is secured with respect to the base such that, when the cover is closed, the power-circuitry unit is in thermal communication with the cover. During operation primary heat transfer from the power-circuitry unit and primary heat transfer from the LED emitter(s) are to separate enclosure members.

Light fixture with facilitated thermal management

LED lighting apparatus including (a) a circuit board which has a plurality of light sources spaced thereon, (b) a heat sink to which the circuit board is thermally coupled, and (c) a securement structure which includes a rigid peripheral structure applying force along a peripheral area of the circuit board toward the heat sink to increase the thermal coupling therebetween to facilitate heat transfer from the light sources during operation. The lighting apparatus may also include an optical member with a plurality of lens portions over corresponding light sources and a peripheral region, the securement structure engaging the peripheral region which sandwiches a gasket against the heat sink. The apparatus may use manipulation involving surface convexity, such as bowing, thereby allowing the securement structure to further facilitate surface-to-surface thermal coupling between the circuit board and the heat sink.

An LED light fixture a housing, a heat sink secured with respect to the housing, the heat sink has a base with front and back surfaces, and an LED arrangement mounted at the front surface of the heat sink. The back surface of the heat sink is open to water/air flow thereover. The LED light fixture also includes at least one closed channel extending along the base and spaced therefrom for receiving wire connections for the LED arrangement. The at least one closed channel receives wiring extending to/from the second LED module. The LED arrangement may include at least first and second LED modules, the first LED module being proximal to the housing with the at least one closed channel receiving wiring extending to/from the second LED module. The first and second LED modules may be in end-to-end relationship to one another such that the second LED module is distal from the housing.

An LED light fixture includes a heat-sink body having a circuit-board mounting surface and a circuit board in thermal-contact relationship to the circuit-board mounting surface. The circuit board has an LED-populated area and a surrounding non-LED-populated area such that lateral heat conduction within the circuit board is greater than heat conduction from the circuit board to the circuit-board mounting surface. The fixture may be a low-profile LED light fixture including a base plate which has a substantially planar back surface, a front surface and heat-dissipating surfaces extending forward from the front surface. An LED circuit board and at least one LED power-circuitry unit, which are secured with respect to the front surface adjacent to the heat-dissipating surfaces, do not extend behind the back surface of the base plate.

An overhead LED light fixture including a base member with a vertical sleeve secured to the top of the base member for alignment with a pass-through opening. The fixture has a driver-tray assembly with a bottom member engageable with the base member at the pass-through opening, a vertical driver-support structure extending upwardly therefrom, at least one driver secured to the support structure, and the driver-tray assembly is slideably received within the vertical sleeve. When used as a canopy light, the driver-tray assembly is removable from below the canopy to facilitate servicing, upgrading or replacing of components.

Overhead light fixture and related method

The inventive LED-illuminated sign structure includes a frame, an outer shell and a plurality of separate LED emitters. The frame includes two opposite main support panels each having an upright outward surface, and shell-supporting members. The outer shell has a pair of opposite translucent sidewalls each extending along and is spaced from the respective outward surface. The LED emitters are spaced on each outward surface such that the translucent sidewalls are illuminated substantially entirely. The frame defines an open region for passing reflected light within the frame structure to and through the opposite translucent sidewall. The LED illuminator includes an LED emitter on a mounting surface, a one-piece lens member over the LED emitter and including a lens portion and a flange portion, and a gasket between the flange portion and the mounting surface. The lens member has a restraining ridge positioned to press the LED-emitter wires and the gasket against the mounting surface such that the wire portions between the ridge and the LED emitter remain in substantially fixed position regardless of wire movement beyond the restraining ridge.

An LED light fixture a housing, a heat sink secured with respect to the housing, the heat sink has a base with front and back surfaces, and an LED arrangement mounted at the front surface of the heat sink The back surface of the heat sink is open to water/air flow thereover. The LED light fixture also includes at least one closed channel extending along the base and spaced therefrom for receiving wire connections for the LED arrangement. The at least one closed channel receives wiring extending to/from the second LED module. The LED arrangement may include at least first and second LED modules, the first LED module being proximal to the housing with the at least one closed channel receiving wiring extending to/from the second LED module. The first and second LED modules may be in end-to-end relationship to one another such that the second LED module is distal from the housing.

A mounting assembly for securing a fixture in a desired orientation. The assembly includes a fulcrum and an opposing structure each secured with respect to the fixture and positioned to receive a support member therebetween. The fulcrum defines a fulcrum plane and is positioned to pivotably engage one side of the support member. The assembly also includes at least one adjustable engager separately secured to the opposing structure for engaging the support member at position spaced from the fulcrum plane such that, when the support member is received between the fulcrum and the engager, adjustment of the engager holds the fixture in the desired orientation. In some embodiments, the fixture is a luminaire.

Light fixture support assembly

An LED light fixture includes a housing forming a chamber enclosing at least one drive and an extruded portion extending therefrom. In some embodiments, the housing has a dimension in the extruded direction no less than one-third of the fixture length, and the sides of the extruded portion and of the housing have substantially congruent profiles such that enclosure and heat-dissipation functions of the fixture are facilitated without substantial discontinuity in fixture configuration therealong viewed from positions below. A plurality of substantially rectangular LED-array modules are mounted to the LED-adjacent surface which has length and width dimensions accommodating multiple modules of predetermined width and lengths.

An LED floodlight fixture includes (1) a housing that has (a) at least one end-portion and (b) a single-piece extrusion including (i) a base having an LED-adjacent surface and an opposite surface and (ii) a heat-dissipating section having heat-dissipating surfaces extending from the opposite surface, and (2) an LED arrangement mounted to the LED-adjacent surface in non-water/air-tight condition with respect to the housing. The housing preferably forms at least one venting gap to provide cool-air ingress to and along the heat-dissipating surfaces by upward flow of heated air therefrom. Additionally and/or alternatively, the base of the single-piece extrusion has one or more venting apertures to provide cool-air ingress for such purpose. One aspect of the invention involves the heat-dissipating section of the extrusion including a closed extruded wireway therealong enclosing wires extending to/from electrical component(s).
