A metal strip leveler (B): the strip has a thickness (e) subject to a stress distribution. The leveler includes a row of upper rolls (. . . ) and a row of lower rolls (. . . ) having parallel axes, are longitudinally offset in a direction of line of passage (lp) and are offset in height, to define, by vertical imbrication (overlapping) of the rolls, an undulating path of the strip between the rolls. The imbrication occurs because the rows of rolls are interleaved partially to create an undulating path for the strip. At least two upper rolls ([) and two lower rolls ([) are arranged respectively above and below the line of passage, such that they form three vertical imbrication gaps. Those gaps have a profile of non-linear imbrication values (Imbr) that are either convex or concave with respect to a profile of linear imbrication values (Imbr_lin) in the direction of the line of passage.

Multi-roll metal strip leveler

A method and a device that performs the method for measuring the flatness of a metal product traveling on a path, the method includes measuring a first longitudinal tension measurement value (T) with a measuring roller, determining a model of stress over the thickness of the metal product as a function of plastic or elastoplastic deformation of the product, calculating a correction factor for the longitudinal deformation according to the stress model, calculating a corrective value (T', T&#x2032;) for the first longitudinal tension measurement value (T) at at least one evaluation point (M, M) as a function of the longitudinal deformation correction factor (Z), and calculating a corrected flatness measurement value (PC) at at least one of the evaluation points.

Method for measuring the flatness of a metal product and associated device

A cooled mandrel for winding a band-type product into a coil, including a set of adjacent segments mounted to slide radially on a central shaft and fitted each of a cooling circuit having two orifices, respectively an inlet orifice and an outlet orifice, connected each, by a connection fitting having a variable length, to a supply or exhaust duct, respectively of a heat exchanging fluid. The linking fittings corresponding to each segment are connected to a distribution part threaded on a lateral face of the shaft, wherein both ducts emerge transversally, respectively of the supply duct and the exhaust duct, which are arranged inside the central shaft.
