The invention relates to an optical article, for example, an ophthalmic lens, comprising at least one multilayer anti-reflective coating on a transparent substrate made from organic or mineral glass. Said coating comprises successively and starting at the substrate, a layer of material with high refractive index (HI), made from a hybrid organic/inorganic matrix within which are dispersed particles of mineral oxide or chalcogenide with a diameter of 2 to 50 nm and a layer of material with low refractive index (BI), obtained by hardening of a composition comprising at least one silane precursor (I) with 4 hydrolysable groups and at least one fluorosilane precursor (II), said second composition comprising at least 10% in mass of fluorine in a theoretical dry extract and with a molar ratio I/I+II greater than 80%.

Coating installation and method for ophthalmic lens

A polarizing optical element is produced by firstly forming a polarizing multilayer structure () on a support (). The structure comprises an orienting layer and a polarizing layer having dichroic compounds, the dichroic compounds being oriented by the orienting layer. The multilayer structure is then pressed against one surface of the optical element () through the support, with a portion of adhesive placed between the structure and the optical element. The support () for the structure is then removed, leaving the structure () bonded to the optical element ().

Method of producing a polarizing optical element

A multilayer polarizing structure is produced on a temporary support. The structure comprises at least one orienting layer and one polarizing layer comprising dichroic dyes, the dichroic dyes having an angular orientation determined by the orienting layer. The multilayer structure is separated from the temporary substrate before being applied onto a surface of an optical element. Applying the structure onto the optical element may be easily carried out while obtaining a quality compatible with many uses of the optical element, in particular ophthalmic uses.
