A closed fluid line () is connected to an inlet port () and to an outlet port () of a fluid chamber () of the blood treatment device (), wherein the closed fluid line () together with the fluid chamber () forms a recirculation loop. An evacuation line () departs from the closed fluid line (). A warming device () and a recirculation pump () are coupled or configured to be coupled to the closed fluid line (). At least one temperature sensor () is operative on the extracorporeal blood circuit and it is configured to sense a blood temperature (Tb). A control unit (), connected to the warming device (), to the recirculation pump () and to the temperature sensor (), is configured to execute the following procedure: receiving from the temperature sensor () at least a signal correlated to the blood temperature (Tb); adjusting the blood temperature (Tb) by controlling at least one of the warming device () and the recirculation pump ().

Apparatus for extracorporeal treatment of blood

An apparatus for extracorporeal treatment of blood comprising a filtration unit, a blood withdrawal line, a blood return line, an effluent fluid line, a pre and/or post-dilution fluid line connected to the blood withdrawal line, and a dialysis fluid line. Pumps act on the fluid lines for regulating the flow of fluid. A control unit is configured to set initial values to one or more fluid flow rates through the above lines and to periodically execute a flow rate update procedure in order to deliver a set dose (D) in a reference time interval.

A container for warming fluids comprises an inlet port, an outlet port, a fluid conduit configured for fluidly communicating the inlet and outlet ports, and deflection sections. The fluid conduit has a non-constant maximum width in a direction of fluid flow through the fluid conduit. The deflection sections further comprise an entry section and an exit section, each respective exit section being arranged downstream, in the direction of fluid flow, from each respective entry section. A fluid warming device for an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus, comprises: an outlet temperature sensor () operatively active at an outlet () of a fluid warming path () to detect a measured outlet temperature (To) of a fluid leaving the fluid warming device (); an electronic control unit () operatively connected to the outlet temperature sensor (). The electronic control unit () is configured to perform the following procedure: receiving, from the outlet temperature sensor () a signal correlated to a measured outlet temperature (To); correcting the measured outlet temperature (To) through a correction model to obtain an actual fluid outlet temperature (Tout); adjusting a heating power (Ph) of heating elements to keep the actual fluid outlet temperature (Tout) at a set reference temperature value (Tset). The correction model is an empirical model of a measurement error (E) derived from a plurality of experimental data sets, the measurement error (E) being a difference between the measured outlet temperature (To) and the actual fluid outlet temperature (Tout).

Fluid warming device for an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus and method for detecting a fluid temperature at an outlet of a fluid warming device for an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus

An apparatus for extracorporeal treatment of blood () comprising a filtration unit (), a blood withdrawal line (), a blood return line (), an effluent fluid line (), a pre and/or post-dilution fluid line () connected to the blood withdrawal line, and a dialysis fluid line. Pumps () act on the fluid lines for regulating the flow of fluid. A control unit () is configured to periodically calculate a new value for the patient fluid removal rate to be imposed on an ultrafiltration actuator in order to keep a predefined patient fluid removal rate across a reference time interval irrespective of machine down times.

An extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus, comprises: at least a pressure sensor () located in a respective measurement site on an extracorporeal blood circuit (); an electronic control unit () operatively connected at least to the pressure sensor (). The electronic control unit () is configured to perform at least the following procedure: receiving from the pressure sensor () a signal correlated to a measured blood pressure (Pmeasured, Pmeasured) in the measurement site; correcting the blood measured pressure (Pmeasured, Pmeasured) through a mathematical correction model to obtain a blood actual pressure (Pinlet, Poutlet) in a reference site other than the measurement site. Extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus and method for monitoring pressures in an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus

An apparatus () for CRRT is provided comprising a blood circuit () with a blood removal line (), a treatment unit (), and a blood return line (). A replacement fluid container () is configured for containing a medical fluid, a pre-infusion line () has a first end (-) connected to the replacement fluid container () and a second end (-) connected to the blood removal line () and a blood pump () is active on the blood circuit. A replacement fluid pump () is active on the pre-infusion line (), a dialysate circuit () comprises an effluent line () configured for discharging fluid from the second chamber, and a control unit () is connected to the replacement fluid pump () and to the blood pump () and is configured for performing a rinse-back procedure for restituting blood to a patient. The rinse-back procedure comprises conveying blood contained in the blood circuit () towards the second end (-) of the blood return line () using the medical fluid.

A CRRT apparatus comprising a filtration unit (), a blood circuit (), a blood pump (), a dialysate line () and one or more lines () to transfer a respective solution into blood; a fluid source for each of said one or more lines, wherein said solution comprises at least one buffer agent in the form of bicarbonate or bicarbonate precursor. A control unit () is configured to receive a patient prescription and to determine a parameter (J/BW) indicative of a steady state acid-base balance in the blood of the patient who has to undergo a CRRT blood treatment, wherein said parameter is determined as a function of the concentration of said buffer agent in said fluid source and as a function of the estimated or calculated patient systemic steady state concentration of bicarbonate and/or bicarbonate precursors.

An extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus comprises: a blood treatment device; an extracorporeal blood circuit comprising a blood withdrawal line and a blood return line coupled to the extracorporeal blood treatment device, wherein the blood return line presents a heating zone coupled or configured to be coupled to a blood warmer; a blood pump configured to be coupled to a pump section of the blood withdrawal line; at least a post-infusion line connected to the blood return line upstream of the heating zone; an air trapping device placed on the blood return line upstream of the heating zone.
