Disclosed are composition and method for dyeing keratin-containing fibers comprising or utilizing styryl sulfide dyes of formula (1), their salts, isomers, hydrates and other solvates, wherein R, R', R, R&#x2032;, R, R&#x2032;, W, W&#x2032;, W, W&#x2032;, W, W&#x2032;, W, W&#x2032;, Q, Q&#x2032;, Yand Yare defined in claims and disclosure. 

Styryl sulfide dyes

Disclosed are oligomeric cationic azo dyes of formula (1), their salts, isomers, hydrates and other solvates, wherein n, R, R, X, Yand Zare defined in claims and disclosure. Furthermore, the present invention relates to novel cationic oligomeric azo dyes of formula (1), compositions, thereof, especially comprising other dyes, and to application for hair dyeing.

Cationic oligomeric azo dyes

Disclosed are thiol dyes of formula (1) wherein L1 is hydrogen; C-Calkyl; or phenyl-C-Calkyl; X is C-Calkylene, C-Calkenylene, C-Ccycloalkylene, C-Carylene, or C-Carylene-C-Calkylene, which may by interrupted by &#x2014;O&#x2014;, &#x2014;NH&#x2014;, &#x2014;S&#x2014;, &#x2014;CO&#x2014;, o-SO&#x2014;; Y is the residue of an organic dye Z is a group of formula (1b) or &#x2014;C&#x2261;N; wherein A is O; S; or N-L; B is L; &#x2014;OL; &#x2014;NLL; or &#x2014;SL; and L, Land L, independently from other are hydrogen; C-Calkyl; C-Caryl-C-Calkyl. The compounds are useful for the dyeing of organic materials, such as keratin fibers, preferably human hair. 

Thiol derivative dyes

Disclosed is a method of dyeing keratin-containing fibers comprising treating the fiber with at least one compound of formula (1), wherein R, R, R, Rindependently from each other are hydrogen; hydroxy; &#x2014;S&#x2014;H; &#x2014;S&#x2014;C-Calkyl; halogen; C-Calkyl or C-Calkoxy, which may be substituted by one or more C-Calkyl, C-C-alkoxy, hydroxy, &#x2014;(CO)&#x2014;H or &#x2014;(CO)&#x2014;C-C5alkyl; &#x2014;NRR; &#x2014;NO; &#x2014;(CO)H or (CO)&#x2014;C-Calkyl; C-Caryl, C-Caryl-C-Calkyl or C-Caryl-C-Calkoxy, wherein the aryl moiety may be substituted by one or more C-Calkyl, C-Calkoxy, &#x2014;(CO)&#x2014;H or &#x2014;(CO)&#x2014;C-Calkyl; Rand Rindependently from each other are hydrogen; hydroxy; C-Calkyl; hydroxy-C-Calkyl; &#x2014;(CO)&#x2014;H; &#x2014;(CO)&#x2014;C-Calkyl; phenyl or phenyl-C-Calkyl, wherein the phenyl moiety may be substituted by one or more C1-Calkyl, C-Calkoxy, halogen, &#x2014;NH2, mono-C-Calkylamino, di-C-C5alkylamino, &#x2014;NO, carboxy or hydroxy; and An is an anion. Furthermore, the present invention relates to novel heterocyclic compounds, compositions thereof, especially comprising other dyes, and to processes for their preparation and application to hair dying. 

Pyrido thiazinium dyes

Disclosed are thiol dyes of formula (I), wherein R, R, R, Rand Rindependently from each other are hydrogen; unsubstituted or substituted, straight-chain or branched, monocyclic or polycyclic, interrupted or uninterrupted C-Calkyl; C-Calkenyl; C-Caryl; C-Caryl-C-Calkyl; or C-Calkyl(C-Caryl); A is a residue of an organic dye; and Yis the direct bond; CCalkylene; C-Ccycloalkylene; C-Carylene; or C-Carylene-(C1-Calkylene). The compounds are used to dye hair with or without reducing agents. Furthermore, the present invention relates to compositions comprising thiol dyes of formula (I) and to process for the preparation of theses compounds.

Disclosed are compounds of formula (1a), wherein Ris NRR; Rand/or Rindependently from each other are hydrogen; C-Calkyl; or phenyl-C-C-alkyl; or Rand/or Rare a bivalent C-Calkylene radical which is linked to the carbon atoms Cor Crespectively and, together with the linking nitrogen atom form a 6 to 16-membered carbocyclic ring; Ris NRR; or OR; Rand R, independently from each other are hydrogen; C-Calkyl; or phenyl-C-Calkyl; or Rand/or Rare a bivalent C-Calkylene radical which is linked to the carbon atoms Cor Crespectively and, together with the linking nitrogen or oxygen atom form a 6 to 16-membered carbocyclic ring; or Rand Rtogether with the linking nitrogen atom form a 4 to 8 membered carbocyclic ring; R, R, R, Rand Rindependently form each other are hydrogen; C-Calkyl; halogen; NRR; or a radical of formula (1a); Rand Rindependently from each other are hydrogen; C-Calkyl; phenyl-C-Calkyl; or a radical of formula (1a); V is &#x2014;O&#x2014;; Or &#x2014;NR; R, RR-and Rindependently from each other are hydrogen; or C-Calkyl; and Hal is a halogen atom; and wherein at least one of R, R, R, Rand Ris hydrogen. The compounds are useful for dyeing of keratin-containing fibers with or without reducing agents.

Disclosed are azo dyes of formula (1), wherein Ris hydrogen; C-Calkyl; hydroxy-C-Calkyl; C-Calkenyl; a radical of formula (1a) &#x2014;(CH)&#x2014;O&#x2014;(CH)&#x2014;CH; a radical of formula (1b) Caryl; or C-Caryl-C-Calkyl; R3 is hydrogen; C-Calkyl; C-Calkenyl; C-Caryl; C-Caryl-C-Calkyl; or CO&#x2014;R; Ris CO&#x2014;R; Ris C-Calkyl; C-Calkenyl; C-Caryl; or C-Caryl-C-Calkyl; Ris hydrogen; C-Calkyl; C-Calkenyl; or C-Caryl; R, R, Rand R, independently from each other are hydrogen; or C-Calkyl; m is 1; or 2; Anis an anion; If m=1, Ris hydrogen; C-Calkyl; C-Calkenyl; a radical of formula (1a); a radical of formula (1b); C-Caryl; or C-Caryl-C-Calkyl; If m=2, Ris the direct bond; or C-Calkylene, which is optionally substituted by one or more C-Calkyl, or which is optionally interrupted by C-Carylene, &#x2014;O&#x2014; or &#x2014;NRR&#x2014;; Rand R, independently from each other are hydrogen; or C-Calkyl; and n1, n2, n3 and n4, independently from each other are a number from 0 to 5.
