An implantable cardiac device that detects and protects against strong magnetic fields produced by MRI equipment is disclosed. The device has a magnetic field sensor for detecting the presence of a relatively weak static magnetic field () of a level equivalent to that of a permanent magnet in the vicinity of the device. The device is switched from a standard operating mode () where the nominal functions of the device are active, to a specific protected MRI mode () in the presence of a magnetic static field of a level corresponding to that emitted by MRI equipment. The device further temporarily switches the device from the standard operating mode () to an MRI stand-by state () when a magnetic field is detected by the magnetic field sensor such that a subsequent detection of a magnetic field switches the device from an MRI stand-by state to the specific protected MRI mode.

System and method for protecting against magnetic fields produced by MRI

An implantable device includes a lead, for example for neurostimulation of the vagus nerve. The lead includes a series of stimulation electrodes and a series of external electrodes for bioimpedance measurements on blood flow located in the same region, for example on the carotid artery. The device further includes means for separating into frequency bands the measured bioimpedance signal, the bands selected to reflect different respective activities such as vasomotor activity, hemodynamic activity, respiration, and cardiac rhythm activity.

An implantable cardiac pacemaker with automatic control of the connection of a probe and the implantation of the case. The device includes a generator and its energy source. The generator includes: circuits for scanning battery consumption, able to measure current output by the battery and to deliver a measured value of the output current; comparator circuits, able to compare the current value measured with a pre-programmed value of threshold of current. It includes moreover circuits suited to: detect and count the spontaneous depolarizations collected between the aforementioned terminals of the head of connector; to compare the number of depolarizations thus counted with a pre-programmed threshold of counting; and to deliver a signal of suspicion of implantation in the event of crossing of this threshold of counting.

Detection of an evoked post-stimulation potential, in particular atrial potentials, in an active implantable medical device such as a cardiac pacemaker, a defibrillator, a cardioveter, or a multisite device. This device applies a stimulation pulse (), then shorts-circuit for a discharge period (, OCD) the output circuit, which includes discharging a connection capacitor, the self-impedance of the probe, and the impedance of the interface heart-electrode. A detection circuit includes an amplifier and a blanking circuit to temporarily uncouple the input terminal from the amplifier. A sequencer control circuit activates during a first time (micro blanking) the blanking circuit throughout the stimulation pulse (), activates the discharging circuit with a delay after the application of the stimulation pulse, then inhibits the blanking circuit for a listening period (), defining at least part of this delay, so as to authorize detection by the amplifier, during the listening period, of the evoked post-stimulation potentials, and then activates the blanking circuit a second time (BLANKING) after the listening period throughout the discharge period (, OCD).
