A method for determining the operating parameters of a device for manufacturing a reinforcement from a thread () laid directly in its final position by projecting lengths of thread () onto a receiving surface (S). The device includes an assembly comprising a rotary conduit () of given length B and of longitudinal axis bb' fixed to a shaft () of axis R constituting the axis of rotation of the conduit, so that the outer radial end of the conduit is directed substantially radially with respect to the axis of rotation, the conduit receiving the thread () via its central end, which is the opposite end to the outer radial end, from the feed means, the thread leaving via the outer radial end, feed means for feeding thread () from a source of thread, the feed means controlling the linear rate of advance of the thread inside the rotary conduit, means for rotating the conduit at a speed &#x3a9; about the axis R, the conduit running in a plane of rotation P forming an angle &#x3b8; with the longitudinal direction of the receiving surface, and thread cutting means (), wherein the angle &#x3b2;formed by the conduit and a direction of the plane P at the time that the length of thread is cut is determined in such a way that the initial contact between the length of thread and the receiving surface S is one third of the way from the rear of the length.

Method for determining the operating parameters of a device for laying a thread by projection

Device for manufacturing a reinforcement from a thread laid directly in its final position by spraying lengths of the thread onto a receiving surface. The thread lengths are delivered from a conduit to a guide as the conduit rotates about an axis. The guide includes deflectors forming therebetween a slot having a thread inlet orifice and a thread spray (discharge) orifice spaced apart along the guide's height. The separation between the deflectors narrows toward the spray orifice, wherein the deflectors form therebetween an angle in the range of 3&#xb0; and 7&#xb0; when measured at any point along the height of the slot.

Guide for guiding reinforcement threads sprayed onto a surface during manufacture of a tire

A machine for manufacturing tires (P) using at least one core (N) used as a reference surface of the manufacture of the tires (P) by moving consecutively from one manufacturing station to another from the start of assembly through to vulcanisation, comprising a first line of stations, oriented in a horizontal direction XX', capable of receiving the core whose axis of rotation rr&#x2032; is oriented horizontally, and a second line of stations (&#x2032;), oriented in a horizontal direction YY&#x2032;, perpendicular to the direction XX&#x2032;, in which the stations are capable of receiving a core (N) whose axis rr&#x2032; is oriented vertically. The first line of stations comprises a first () and a second () station for assembling the tire including member () for grasping and driving the core (N) in rotation about a horizontal axis rr&#x2032;, merged with the axis XX&#x2032;, such members being placed opposite one another. A turning device () is movable in the direction XX&#x2032; and is capable of transferring the core from one station to another within the first line of stations () by making the axis rr&#x2032; of the core effect a translation along the axis XX&#x2032; and a rotation of 180&#xb0; about a horizontal axis yy&#x2032; parallel to the direction YY&#x2032;.

Machine for assembling and vulcanising tires

A device for laying reinforcement cords () of a tire. The device is formed of a first frame () comprising a motor-driven shaft () with an axis XX', the motor-driven shaft () supporting a reference form on which the blank () of the tire rests. The first frame () itself is mounted rotatably about an axis ZZ&#x2032; on a second frame () in such a manner that the axis ZZ&#x2032; has a point of intersection with the axis of rotation XX&#x2032; and belongs to the equatorial plane (E) of the blank () or of the reference form on which the blank rests. A third frame () is rigidly connected to the second frame (), the third frame () supporting an apparatus () for laying the lengths of cords () by projection of the lengths of cords directly into their final position on the receiving surface formed by the tire blank ().
