The present invention provides a composition comprising specific self-assembling peptides, which are capable of self-assembly at a pH below 7.5 and at least physiologic ionic strength, e.g., PI 1-4. PI 1-8, PI 1-14, PI 1-13, PI 1-12, PI 1-28, PI 1-29, PI 1-2, PI 1-5, PI 1-17, PI 1-19, PI 1-20, PI 1-12, PI 1-16, PI 1-18, PI 1-26 or PI 1-31 for use in treating an oral disease selected from the group consisting of gingivitis, periodontitis and/or peri-implantitis in a subject. Said composition may be used, after suitable cleaning procedures, for filling pockets formed adjacent to teeth in said diseases, which enhances tissue regeneration. The composition may be suitable for controlled release of an active agent, e.g., an antimicrobial or antibiotic agent. The invention also provides a kit suitable for said treatment further comprising self-assembling peptides suitable for forming a second layer on top of the first composition.

Composition comprising self-assembling peptides for use in treatment of gingivitis, periodontitis and/or peri-implantitis

The present invention relates to the field of dental care, e.g., with toothpaste, tooth gel, mouth-wash, mouth spray or oral care foam. In particular, it provides an anti-inflammatory and senolytic dental care product with tooth whitening characteristics. The dental care product comprises calcium phosphate particles of a specific size, the self-assembling peptide P11-4 or oligopeptide 104 of SEQ ID NO: 1, an extract of a plant of the genus, preferably, an alpine rose or Alpenrose such asor, and an extract of a plant of the genus, such as, which is also called Edelweiss. The dental care product may further comprise an extract of a plant of the genus, such as, which is also designated Siberian ginseng or. In addition to the proven tooth whitening characteristics of said product, which can be a medicinal product or a pharmaceutical composition, it further has a senolytic and anti-inflammatory effect. Thus, the invention provides a method for tooth whitening as well as a method of treating periodontal disease, and/or for eliminating or reducing the number of senescent cells in the gums of a subject. The gums of a subject can thus be rejuvenated, potential loose teeth stabilized, and the well-being increased.

The invention relates to a method for preparing a composition for treating a tooth lesion, said composition comprising peptides that are capable of undergoing self-assembly at a certain pH. The compositions of the invention are highly suitable for being used in the medical field, in particular for remineralising a tooth lesion such as a subsurface caries lesion.

The present invention relates to the field of dental care, in particular, to a dental care product such as toothpaste (dentifrice), prophylactic paste, tooth powder, tooth polish, tooth gel, chewing gum, candy, lozenge, mouthwash, whitening strip, coated dental floss, coated toothbrush, paint-on gel, varnish, veneer, and tube, syringe or dental tray comprising a gel or paste, mouthwash, whitening strips and trays for whitening teeth, wherein the product comprises mineral particles such as crystals and a compound, preferably, a protein capable of forming a matrix which is a hydrogel, wherein the product comprises a fluorophore. The mineral particles may comprise, e.g., calcium phosphate, preferably, hydroxyapatite, preferably, in crystalline form. The protein matrix may comprise, e.g., a self-assembling peptide. The product also comprises a fluorophore, which may be a fluorescent amino acid residue of the protein matrix. The invention also relates to cosmetic use of the dental care product for whitening teeth or for use in treatment of a sensitive tooth or sensitive teeth and/or in prevention or treatment of caries, as well as a related method for tooth whitening.
