In a portable electronic device components () consuming electrical power during operation may generate heat. A temperature sensor () for sensing an ambient temperature (T) of the portable electronic device may as a consequence not supply the correct temperature value. It is suggested to provide a compensator () for determining a compensated ambient temperature (T) dependent on at least the sensed ambient temperature (T) and information (P) related to the electrical power consumed by at least one of the components ().

Portable electronic device

In a portable electronic device, a temperature sensor is provided for sensing an ambient temperature of the portable electronic device. At least one other temperature sensor is provided for sensing a temperature inside the portable electronic device. The portable electronic device further comprises a set of components radiating heat in an active state in response to the consumption of electrical energy. A calibration module is adapted to conduct a calibration measurement during or in connection with an active state of at least a first component out of the set, and is adapted to determine a set of calibration parameters in response to the calibration measurement for adjusting the at least one sensed inside temperature. A compensator is provided for determining a compensated ambient temperature dependent on at least the sensed ambient temperature and the at least one adjusted sensed inside temperature.

Portable electronic device with compensated ambient temperature measurement

In a portable electronic device, a temperature sensor () is provided for sensing an ambient temperature (T) of the portable electronic device. At least one other temperature sensor () is provided for sensing a temperature (T) inside the portable electronic device. The portable electronic device further comprises a set of components () radiating heat in an active state in response to the consumption of electrical energy. A calibration module () is adapted to conduct a calibration measurement during or in response to an active state of at least a first component out of the set, and is adapted to determine a set of calibration parameters (c) in response to the calibration measurement for adjusting the at least one sensed inside temperature (T). A compensator () is provided for determining a compensated ambient temperature (T) dependent on at least the sensed ambient temperature (T) and the at least one adjusted sensed inside temperature (c, T).

There is provided a portable electronic device with one or more integrated temperature sensors () for measuring an ambient temperature, a compensator () for reducing the difference between a sensor output (Ts) and the ambient temperature (Ta) with the compensator () switching depending on environmental and/or handling conditions between a plurality of compensation modes selected dependent on measurements of one or more other integrated and/or external sensors.

In a portable electronic device, an ambient temperature is sensed by means of a temperature sensor. In addition, it is assessed if the portable electronic device is exposed to condensation. A corresponding condensation indicator is provided. The condensation indicator is determined based on a dew point and based on sensed temperature values of the past or temperature derived from the past sensed temperature values.

Disclosed is a method for adjusting a sensor signal and a corresponding sensor system comprising a sensor for providing a sensor signal representative of a measure other than temperature, dynamic components of the sensor signal being dependent on temperature. In addition there is provided a temperature sensor for measuring the temperature. Dynamic components in the sensor signal are adjusted subject to the temperature sensed, and a compensated sensor signal is supplied. Such sensor system helps compensating for long response times of sensors.

Sensor system

A mobile phone comprises a casing and a cavity in the casing. A humidity sensor is arranged for measuring a humidity in the cavity. In response to a trigger, a control unit analyzes a humidity signal supplied by the humidity sensor. A result of the analysis is presented via an output unit. Such device allows for measuring a humidity of a user's skin in case the user covers a window in the casing connected to the cavity by a body part.

To process a plurality of sensor devices, such as humidity sensors or gas sensors, the sensor devices are run through a testing station and a turret handler. In order to increase throughput of the testing station, several test cycles are operated simultaneously in a phase-shifted manner. The sensor devices are e.g. sequentially fed onto trays of the test station, on which they are assembled in batches. Each batch is subjected to a test cycle. After the test cycle, the sensor devices of a batch are sequentially fed back to the turret handler.
