A single-layer redistribution plate functioning as a space translator between a device under testing ('DUT') and a testing PCB may comprise a hard ceramic plate. A DUT side of the plate may have pads configured to interface with a device under testing. Both sides of the plate may comprise traces, vias, and pads to fan out the DUT pad pattern so that the plate side opposite the DUT side has spatially translated pads configured to interface with the pads on a testing PCB. Fabricating a redistribution plate may comprise calibrating and aligning, laser milling vias, laser milling trenches and pads, copper plating, grinding and polishing, removing residual copper, and coating the copper surfaces.

Various embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for low-cost, low-power Array Waveguide Grating (AWG)-based miniaturized Raman spectroscopy for use in non-invasive glucose monitoring systems, such as in wearable devices that require no replenishment of chemicals or enzymes. The AWG may be manufactured using VLSI processing technology, which significantly reduces manufacturing cost and replaces holographic grating as the dispersive component of light. In embodiments, the AWG is integrated with a number of PIN photodiode detectors on a substrate to further reduce cost and signal loss. In embodiments, a prism-coupling method eliminates alignment problems associated with traditional approaches that utilize fiber-coupling methods.

Arrayed waveguide grating (AWG)-based Raman spectroscopy for glucose monitoring

Presented are systems and methods that perform noninvasive glucose monitoring using mid-infrared self-emission of the human body that acts as a background radiation emitter. Various embodiments accomplish this by taking advantage of the guided-mode resonance (GMR) effect in a number of bandpass filters that are constructed as an array of coplanar filters. The filter array acts as a spectral separator that uses a grating layer and a thin film waveguide to form reflection and transmission filters for particular wavelengths. Unlike, common multi-layer optical filter designs that utilize numerous individual optical filters, a novel GMR filter design comprises an array of filters that may be fabricated from CMOS-compatible materials using only a few thin film and grating layers to filter light. Advantageously, this reduces manufacturing cost and allows for simultaneous monitoring of a number of wavelengths of the glucose spectrum.

A multi-mode wireless device on a single substrate includes an analog portion and a digital portion integrated on the single substrate. The analog portion includes a cellular radio core; and a short-range wireless transceiver core. The digital portion includes a multi-processor core with a master processor coupled to a router which distributes data from the radio chip to a serial-parallel array of DSP processors, each of which is connected to multiple DSP coprocessors. This arrangement allows for decoding both complex protocols at low data rates (like GPRS), simple protocols at high data rates (like 802.11A) and complex protocols at high data rates (like WCDMA), using the same hardware.

A set of radio frequency (RF) integrated circuits includes a transmit chip having a power amplifier and a receive chip adapted to work with the transmit chip. An apparatus captures a digital image from a film-based camera having a chamber to receive a film cartridge and a take-up spool to advance the film after each shot. The apparatus includes a cartridge shaped to fit in the camera film chamber, the cartridge including a processor, a storage unit coupled to the processor, and an input output unit coupled to the processor. The cartridge houses a flexible strip having one end coupled to the cartridge and the other end adapted to be wound on the camera take-up spool, the flexible strip containing one or more imaging arrays deposited thereon to capture the digital image, each of the imaging arrays communicating with the processor.

Systems and methods to reversibly convert a film-based camera into a digital camera

Systems and methods are disclosed for parallel testing one or more wireless devices using a single wireless command, each device including a processor and memory coupled to the processor. The system includes a tester adapted to exercise the wireless devices, including: a transceiver adapted to communicate with each wireless device; and a computer coupled to the transceiver, the computer adapted to test all wireless devices in parallel by issuing a single test command using a wireless signal, the computer adapted to store test patterns and test results.
