A vehicle roof is provided having a mobile roof element which can be moved by means of a drive carriage which is connected to the roof part and can be movably guided in a guide rail, a drive cable for moving the drive carriage, and a cable connection which connects the drive cable to the drive carriage. The cable connection may have a metal element. In one approach the metal element positively engages in a cable coil arranged on the drive cable.

Vehicle roof arrangement can have displaceable sliding member, activation element having a mechanical coupling element, locationally fixed construction element in relation to the guide rail and has a coupling element pocket, and an elastic element mounted to be locationally fixed in relation to the guide rail. In a first state the elastic element protrudes into the pocket. In a second state the elastic element is guided out of the pocket. In a first movement section of the sliding member the elastic element by the sliding member is transferable from the first state to the second state. In an adjacent second movement section an introduction of the coupling element into the pocket is controllable, and the activation element is blocked in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. In an adjacent third movement section the elastic element is again transferable to the first state, and the coupling element is blocked.

The deployment means have a sliding member which can be displaced in a guide rail along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle by means of a drive and which has a first coupling element and a second coupling element. The deployment means have a sliding member which can be displaced in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle by a drive and which has a first slotted guide. The deployment means also have a second slotted guide which is secured to the vehicle, and have a first control lever pivotably supported in the rear region on the cover and is coupled to the first slotted guide and the second slotted guide, so that, starting from the closure position of the cover, when the sliding member is displaced in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, a movement of the cover in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle is initially locked by means of the first control lever.

A vehicle roof is proposed, comprising a roof opening, which can be either closed or at least partially exposed by means of a cover element, which at its rear edge can be tilted relative to a fixed roof section and which is traversable above the fixed roof section towards the rear of the vehicle and which is guided on both sides relative to a vehicle longitudinal center plane by a front sliding unit in a leading guide rail section and by a rear sliding unit in a rear guide rail section respectively. According to the invention the rear sliding unit is guided on a guide link of the cover element and the tangents of the rear guide rail section and of the guide link of the cover element, projected in the vehicle vertical direction, are at least in part set counter to a vehicle longitudinal axis, so that the rear guide rail section and the guide link fixed to the cover in this projection intersect when the cover element is in an open position.

A vehicle roof is proposed having a roof opening system () which comprises a cover element () by means of which a roof opening () can be optionally closed or at least partially opened and which interacts, in the closed position, with a separating device which surrounds the roof opening () and separates a wet area from a dry area, wherein the cover element () comprises, on both sides with respect to a longitudinal central plane of the vehicle, a front, driven sliding element () which lies in the dry area and is guided in a first guide device (), and a rear sliding element () which lies in the wet area and is guided in a second guide device ().
