A smart multi-modal vehicular air filtration management system including a first filter element and a second filter element disposed in a fresh air housing, wherein the fresh air housing has an inlet and an outlet. Additionally, a third filter element is provided which is disposed in a cabin housing, the cabin housing having one or more inlet. A fluid channel arranged between the fresh air and cabin housing. Finally, a diverter is included which is disposed near an outlet of the fresh air housing, wherein the diverter is configured to cause air to flow through the fresh air housing selectively through one or both of the first filter element and the second filter element.

Smart multi-modal vehicular air filtering system and associated methods

A cabin air filter is provided with a filter medium and a filter element frame that frames the filter medium and is configured to attach the cabin air filter to a filter housing. The filter element frame is provided with at least one engagement element configured to engage pivotably at least one receiving element of the filter housing for pivoting the cabin air filter relative to the filter housing about a pivot axis. The filter element frame also has at least one snap hook that locks with at least one locking element of the filter housing for blocking pivoting of the cabin air filter relative to the filter housing at least in a first direction about the pivot axis.

Cabin air filter and filter assembly

An interior air filter for a motor vehicle has a fold pack having a first side. A material with a first leg and a second leg is disposed on the first side. The first leg is attached to the first side and the second leg has a width that is greater than a height of the fold pack. The material strip forms at least partially a head band or a side band of the fold pack. A filter receptacle for the interior air filter has a slanted wall and a mounting and removal opening through which the interior air filter is inserted or removed from the filter receptacle in a mounting and removal direction. The slanted wall extends at an angle that corresponds to an angle defined by the second leg of the material strip of the interior air filter and a contact surface of the filter receptacle.
