A removable mounting unit for electrostatic mounting of a shelf or hook to a nonporous surface includes a sheet of electrostatic material having an opening to engage the shelf or hook and hold it to the non-porous surface. The removable mounting unit may also include only the electrostatic sheet used to mount a picture or flat object by sandwiching the object between the sheet and a non-porous surface, or by using slits cut into the sheet to hold the corners of the object. The shelf or hook may be directly fused or glued to the electrostatic sheet.

Plastic mounting membrane using electrostatic attraction

A therapeutic impact massager for massaging a body region of a person. The impact massager includes a frame mounted within a flexible fabric support member. The frame includes a plurality of compartments that movably receive conductive elements. Drive coils are mounted within the compartments adjacent to the conductive elements and produce a first pulsed magnetic field. The first pulsed magnetic field induces a second magnetic field within the conductive elements. The first and second magnetic fields interact to force the conductive elements towards the body region of a person to impact thereupon. A capacitor for storing electrical energy is coupled to the drive coils. A switch is coupled in series with the capacitor and drive coils and is movable between the closed state which allows electrical energy to flow from the capacitor to the drive mechanism, and an open state which prevents the discharge of electrical energy through the drive coils. A microprocessor is coupled to the switch and generates a logic command that shifts the switch between opened and closed states. The microprocessor is configured to energize the drive coils in a periodic and patterned manner to repeatedly force the conductive elements toward the body region which imparts a rhythmic wave massaging effect thereto. The impact massager preferably is in the form of a therapeutic garment that overlies the chest and back of a wearer. The therapeutic garment is designed to be used by persons with cystic fibrosis to alleviate the accumulation of mucus within the lungs.

Method and apparatus for removing salt from sea water

The present invention provides a device designed to more efficiently aerate a body of liquid. The aeration device generally includes a nozzle, a liquid delivery means, and an air delivery means. The nozzle is submersed within the body of liquid and directed substantially laterally relative to the surface of the body of liquid. The nozzle includes a liquid delivery tube, which defines an upstream end of the nozzle, a coaxially aligned contraction member having a converging profile, a coaxially aligned throat member having a uniform diameter, and a coaxially aligned diffuser member having a diverging profile and an exit facing downstream, and a coaxially aligned focus member having a uniform diameter all of which are in fluid communication in series relative to one another. The liquid delivery tube is in fluid communication with the liquid delivery means, which draws liquid from the body of liquid and delivers it under pressure to the liquid delivery tube. An air delivery tube, extending concentrically within the liquid delivery tube and the contraction member, also has an exit that faces downstream. The air delivery tube is in fluid communication with the air deilvery means, which delivers air from the atmosphere to the air delivery tube.

Submersible aeration device

This is a water aerating unit which is particularly adapted for aerating bodies of water adjacent the shoreline and is readily transportable from one location to another. A suitable transporting vehicle is provided such as a tractor having a power take-off and hydraulic system for providing the driving power water for the propeller as well as the air blower mounted on the unit. The unit is supported on a wheeled frame by which the elevation of the lower submerged end thereof may be adjustably varied by a hydraulic system.

A system for aerating in a programmed manner the desired areas of a water pond to enhance the environment for marine life in the pond; said system including a propelled boat with an aerator mounted thereon and having direction control apparatus including a rotating beam-sending component, a plurality of beam-reflecting posts located in predetermined fixed relationship around the shore line of the pond, and a beam-receiving component mounted on the boat to receive the beam reflected back from each of the reflecting posts, whereby the position of the boat can be determined automatically by angle determining components combined with a microprocessor programmed to calculate by triangulation computation the position of the boat and produce a signal which is connected to a servo system which controls the direction of travel of the boat in its aerating path around the pond.

Method and apparatus for aerating flowing water raceways

An electronic motor includes a shaft mounted for rotation about a rotational axis. A plurality of radial lever arms are mounted with respect to the shaft. Each lever arm has an inner end connected to the shaft by a one-way clutch. The clutches allow the shaft to rotate in only a first circumferential direction with respect to the lever arms. An electrically conductive element is attached to an outer end of each lever arm. A drive coil is positioned adjacent to each electrically conductive element. A drive circuit periodically and sequentially energizes each drive coil with current pulses. Each drive coil is oriented to produce a first pulsed magnetic field in a direction generally tangential to the circumferential direction when energized. The first magnetic field induces circulating currents within the electrically conductive element. The circulating currents in turn produce a second magnetic field about the electrically conductive element. The first and second magnetic fields interact and force the radial lever arm to rotate in the first circumferential direction thereby engaging and rotating the shaft.

Electronic motor

An impulse motor includes a stator and a rotor concentrically mounted about a rotational axis. A plurality of flat primary drive coils are circumferentially arranged around the stator and are connected in a parallel circuit. The primary drive coils are oriented to produce magnetic fields in radial directions when energized. The rotor is positioned inside the stator and has a plurality of electrically conductive elements circumferentially arranged around it. A plane formed by each conductive element is parallel to the rotational axis and is tilted a predetermined angle off a perpendicular formed with a radial axis. The magnetic fields produced by the primary drive coils induce circulating currents in the conductive elements. The circulating currents in the conductive elements in turn produce magnetic fields in directions generally orthogonal to the plane of the conductive elements. The magnetic fields of the conductive elements and the primary drive coils interact to create opposing forces with a resultant circumferential component which causes rotational motion of the rotor.

An aerator nozzle and system for aerating a body of liquid which includes a combined air and liquid discharge nozzle unit respectively supplied from an air compressor and a liquid pump wherein the nozzle unit includes a liquid discharge nozzle with an air dispersing nozzle therewithin to insure maximum air absorption into the body of liquid to be aerated.

Aerator

A battery-driven car which has an electrical system including a minimum number of electric storage batteries as the power source, a high-voltage converter with a high-voltage capacitor bank for driving a direct current impulse motor combined with a generator for supplying current to motor/generator sets respectively integrated with the wheels of the vehicle to drive the same or for recharging the batteries in accordance with a microprocessor control system, the wheel-actuated generators providing recharging current for the batteries whenever the motor component is not being energized and in addition, said electrical system also including an air-driven turbine generator component for recharging the batteries when the vehicle reaches a predetermined speed in accordance with the microprocessor controls.
