An additive (and methods for a coating composition that includes at least one an agent for improving the performance of the coating composition, selected from a Michael addition product of siloxane further containing one or more active hydrogen containing functional moieties with two or more acrylate groups; a high molecular weight adduct having multiple alkoxysilane moieties; a compound including at least one terminal unsaturation and multiple alkoxysilyl groups; an organometallic compound that includes an element selected from silicon, titanium, zirconium, aluminum, or any combination thereof.

Adhesion promotion additives and methods for improving coating compositions

Many family homes, school and municipal parks have play structures for children. Typically these playground play structures have ladders. In the case of family homes in particular, toddlers typically enjoy climbing the ladders but then are stuck at the top and in danger of falling off the ladder. In order to prevent toddlers from climbing the ladder of the play structures when unattended by an adult, and ultimately preventing injury, an invention that prevents the ladder from being climbed by a toddler is presented here.

A method for bonding a substantially transparent substrate within an opening of a structure, including steps of applying to a substantially transparent substrate a primer composition that includes a colorant; applying an adhesive to the structure defining the opening; and installing the substantially transparent substrate within the opening, wherein the resulting installed substrate is substantially free of any ceramic enamel. In another embodiment the invention is a system for bonding glass to a substrate which comprises a clear primer according to the invention; and an adhesive comprising an isocyanate functional prepolymer and a catalyst for the cure of the isocyanate functional prepolymer.

System for bonding glass into a structure

The invention is a composition comprising: a) one or more film forming resins having at least one functional group capable of polymerization; b) one or more reactive diluents capable of reacting with the film forming resin; c) one or more silicon, titanium, zirconium, aluminum or metal containing compounds capable of promoting adhesion of the composition to glass; d) one or more fillers capable of imparting abrasion resistance to the composition when cured; and e) one or more compounds which is reactive with the film forming resin which also contains at least one acidic moiety. The composition of the invention is useful as a frit on the window of a vehicle. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for applying the coatings to glass and a method for bonding the coated glass to a structure or substrate, for instance, a building.

Coated glass articles

A process for applying an adhesion primer to a window. The process includes the steps of directing light () onto the window () to illuminate a portion () of the window and then applying an adhesion primer along the illuminated portion of the window. If the adhesion primer contains a component that evaporates, then the process can further include the step of forming an infrared image () of the window as the component evaporates to indicate the area of application () of the adhesion primer. If the adhesion primer contains a component that fluoresces when illuminated by ultraviolet light, then the process can further include the step of illuminating the window with ultraviolet light () to indicate the area of application () of the adhesion primer.
