Pumping and water distribution systems for pools/spas, and methods for control thereof are provided. A system includes a pump including a variable speed motor, a controller configured to control the speed of the motor, a plurality of pool/spa components, a plumbing subsystem placing the components in fluidic communication with the pump, and a plurality of control valves switchable between an open position and a closed position. Each of the control valves is associated with one of the components, positioned in the plumbing subsystem between the associated component and the pump to control the flow of fluid to the associated component, and is configured to provide a specific flow rate of fluid to the associated component based on a set system pressure when in the open position. The controller adjusts the speed of the motor to adjust the fluid pressure within the plumbing subsystem to match the set system pressure value.

Swimming pool pressure and flow control pumping and water distribution systems and methods

Mobile nozzles and associated systems for cleaning pools and spas are provided. One or more mobile nozzles traverse a pool or spa, dislodge settled debris from the floors thereof, and direct the debris to one or more outlets for removal and/or filtration. Each of the mobile nozzles can include a body, a water intake, a discharge nozzle configured to expel pressurized water, one or more sensors adapted for navigation and/or to locate debris within the pool or spa, a propulsion system, and a control system including a memory and a processor. The discharge nozzle can be movable between a plurality of orientations relative to the body, or can have a fixed orientation. The processor is operable to identify debris in the pool or spa and cause the discharge nozzle to be positioned such that the pressurized water expelled therethrough directs the debris toward a debris collection zone or outlet.

Mobile nozzles and associated systems for cleaning pools and spas

A swimming pool water sanitizing unit with an ozone generator and a separate ultraviolet (UV) reactor chamber within the same housing unit. The ozone generator may include a water jacket gap between the ozone generator chamber and the outer casing that passes pool water through the gap for cooling. Either of the ozone generator and the UV reactor chamber may include UV intensity sensors to help predict the life of the UV bulb therein. The UV reactor chamber may include rotating water paddle blades to stir up the water within the chamber for enhanced exposure to the UV light. A diverter valve enables diversion of ozone enriched fluid to the pool pump in addition to the UV reactor chamber.

Combination ultraviolet ray and ozone water sanitizing unit

A swimming pool drain and sump assembly with a toroidal drain housing that includes a lower section with a drain outlet port extending through the lower section wall and a continuous annular channel that loops back upon itself, and an upper section supported upon the sump base only along the inner wall, cantilevered over the sump base from a lower edge of the sump cover to an upper edge of the sump cover. The lower section and the upper section form an annular, continuous, uninterrupted, single orifice drain entrance channel between a top edge of the outer wall and the upper edge of the top piece. Some embodiments include a continuous, one-piece blockage tray insert adjustably positioned within the drain entrance channel and an access port cover within an access port that is a continuous opening with the drain entrance channel.

In-floor swimming pool drain and sump assembly

A pool skimmer including a skimmer housing and a venturi system is disclosed. The skimmer housing includes a pool throat opening, an angled pool throat extension. A pump inlet port into the skimmer housing includes an upper end and bayonet lugs, and an internally threaded surface between the bayonet lugs and the upper end of the pump inlet port. A nozzle comprises a nozzle housing with bayonets on an external surface of the nozzle housing, the bayonets releasably engaged with the bayonet lugs of the pump inlet port, wherein when the bayonets of the nozzle housing are in a fully tightened position in relation to the bayonet lugs of the pump inlet port, the at least a first nozzle is directed to spray toward the pool return port of the skimmer housing.

Swimming pool skimmers and skimmer nozzle connectors

A bypass valve assembly for use with a multi-speed pool pump is disclosed. The bypass valve assembly includes a housing having a inlet port, a high-pressure (HP) with a HP canal opening between the inlet port and the HP port, and a low-pressure (LP) port with a LP canal opening between the inlet port and the LP port. The bypass valve assembly also includes a HP valve assembly within the housing. The HP valve assembly includes a high-pressure seal movable between a HP sealed position responsive to a LP head and a HP open position responsive to a LP head. The bypass valve assembly also includes a LP valve assembly comprising a LP seal movable between a LP sealed position that seals the LP canal opening responsive to a HP head and a LP open position responsive to a LP head.

Automated pressure regulated water diversion system

A nozzle mounting assembly for an in-ground swimming pool cleaning system may comprise a plurality of mounting rings that are formed within the shell of a prefabricated swimming pool. The plurality of mounting rings may couple at a first end with a corresponding plurality of trim rings. The plurality of trim rings forms a flanged ring around each of the openings in the pool surface for cleaning nozzle mechanisms. The plurality of mounting rings may further couple with a corresponding plurality of nozzle retainer bodies, where the nozzle retainer bodies provide an interface for standard cleaning system fittings. Nozzle mounting assemblies may be adapted to a variety of pool types and surfaces, and may be sized for the floor surface, the steps or the walls of a swimming pool.

Nozzle mounting assembly

A nozzle assembly that includes upper and lower washers and a cam. A particular implementation of a nozzle assembly includes a stem coupled with a cam assembly. The stem has a nozzle in a first end which is in fluid communication with a second end of the stem. An upper washer is slidably coupled with a washer race in the stem and may have an upper washer groove and a lower washer may be coupled with the second end of the stem and have a lower washer groove. A spring element may be disposed around the stem between the upper and lower washer grooves. Particular implementations of a cam assembly may include a lower cam half slidably coupled into an upper cam half. Other particular implementations may further include the lower cam half rotationally and, in some implementations, removably indexed in relation to the upper cam half.
