A razor cartridge including a housing, blades mounted on said housing, and a metallic retaining clip that wraps around the housing and retains the blades on the housing, the housing including fulcrum portions extending outward beyond adjacent surface portions on two sides of the fulcrum portions, the clips having end portions that have been bent over the fulcrum portions beyond the elastic limit of the clips, the housing also having wedge portions making interference fits with the ends of the retaining clips.

Razor cartridge with metal clip retaining blades

A shaving system includes a replaceable shaving cartridge and a shaving razor handle. The replaceable shaving cartridge has a housing carrying blades, a guard, a cap, and a camming surface. The cartridge includes an interconnect member having a pivotal support structure that pivotally supports the housing and a base structure adapted to be removably and fixedly attached to the handle. A shaving razor handle has an elongated hand gripping structure and a cartridge support structure extending from an end of the hand gripping structure. The cartridge support structure has an extension with outer side surfaces that mate with inwardly directed surfaces of a recess on the cartridge and an end surface with an opening. The extension has an asymmetrical shape to ensure proper orientation. A spring-biased plunger is retained in the cartridge support structure and extends through the opening of the cartridge support structure.

Shaving system and method

A razor cartridge comprising a housing having an elongated blade receiving region defined between two side walls spaced from each other along parallel first axes and between a guard and a cap spaced from each other along parallel second axes that are transverse to the first axes, the housing also having blade-receiving slots in the side walls that face each other and extend along third axes that are transverse to both the first and second axes, and elongated blade members having blades with cutting edges that are parallel to the first axes and bent supports that extend downward from the blades and have support ends at the ends of the blade members that are mounted for movement in the slots along the third axes, the slots being defined by front stop portions and back stop portions of the housing on opposite sides of respective first and third axes, the front stop portions being located underneath the blades, the back stop portions being located along respective first axes outside of the front stop portions in a direction away from the blade receiving region.

A replaceable razor blade cartridge including a blade unit, and cartridge connecting structure for connecting the blade unit to handle connecting structure of a handle, the cartridge connecting structure having inwardly directed surfaces for mating with outwardly directed surfaces on the handle connecting structure, the blade unit being pivotally connected to the cartridge connecting structure, the cartridge connecting structure including a latching member that is movable to release the cartridge from the handle connecting structure prior to retraction of the cartridge connecting structure from the handle connecting structure.

Razor handle

A razor blade assembly for mounting on a handle via a pivotal connection, the assembly including a housing that carries three blade members, each having leading edges, and has a guard portion, a cap structure, and arcuate bearing surfaces below the blade carrying portion that pivotally engage shell bearing connections of the handle. The pivot axis of the razor blade assembly is located in a region defined by an imaginary boundary extending from the first leading edge to the second leading edge when both are in the unloaded position, extending upward and rearward from the second leading edge to a position slightly above the upper surface of the housing at a location in front of the third leading edge, extending along and slightly above the upper surface of the housing to a position in front of the first leading edge, extending downward and forward to a location within the guard portion below and forward of the first leading edge, and extending from the location within the guard portion upward and rearward to the first leading edge. The pivot axis is advantageously located at the secondary blade member leading edge and at least two of the blade member leading edges have sharpened cutting edges. The housing is provided with a cam surface engaged by a spring loaded cam follower on the razor handle, and the cam can be contoured to provide an at-rest position other than a position midway between the limit of forward and rearward arcuate travel.

Razor blade assembly

A handle assembly for a safety razor comprises a grip portion formed of a pair of shells mounted on a substantially planar body member. The shell members cover only the periphery of the top and bottom surfaces of the body member which is fabricated of a first element formed of a substantially flexible elastomeric material and a second element formed of a more rigid material. The second element is sandwiched between the top and bottom surfaces of the first element, or imbedded within the first element by a molding process.

Razor handle assembly

A razor blade body in the form of a cartridge structure includes a guard member assembled thereon forward of, and extending parallel to, the blade or blades. The guard is of a two part molded structure having an upper portion of elastomeric material with a plurality of upwardly projecting protrusions formed thereon and a lower base portion of rigid plastic material having a downwardly projecting V-shaped cross-sectional portion. A pair of upwardly projecting elements are disposed in spaced relation forming a recess on the blade cartridge structure for receiving the V-shaped base portion therebetween and a latch means disposed in the recess retains the guard member in the assembled position.

Guard for razor blade assembly

A razor handle assembly comprising a grip portion formed of a pair of shells mounted on opposite sides of a substantially flat planar body member. The pair of shells extend downwardly at an angle beyond one end of the planar body member and form a housing containing operative structure responsive to a pair of opposed buttons extending outwardly from the housing sides to provide attachment of a razor blade assembly onto the handle.

Safety razor handle assembly

A razor assembly of the wet-shave type comprising a razor handle, a head portion extending from the razor handle, the head portion having therein a cavity therein. A spring retention chamber disposed in the handle portion, and a spring member comprising a foot portion retained by the spring retention chamber, a stem portion connected at a first end to the foot portion, the stem portion extending from the foot portion toward the head portion, a flange portion fixed to a second end of the stem portion, and blade assembly connector structure on the flange portion, said connector structure being connected to a blade assembly disposed in the cavity, the spring member being adapted to facilitate pivotal movement of the blade assembly during a shaving operation, the spring member being operative to urge the blade assembly to a neutral position in the razor head cavity.

Razor assembly

The present disclosure is directed to a shaving cartridge for use with a razor handle having a pair of cartridge engaging shell rocker bearings biased toward one another each of which has at least one undercut rocker bearing for receiving the cartridge. The cartridge has at least one blade thereon and has curved under surfaces pivotal upon and relative to the rocker bearing surfaces of the cartridge engaging shell rocker bearings. At least one protrusion extends from the curved under surfaces of the cartridge and is positioned to engage the shell rocker bearing surfaces on the cartridge when the cartridge is introduced to the shell bearings of the handle to bar reverse insertion of the cartridge in the handle so that the shaving blade of the cartridge when rockably engaged within the grip of the shell bearings is in a shaving ready position every time avoiding accidental reversal of the cartridge and its cutting blades when positioned on the handle for shaving.
