A system of wake control for a ground vehicle to help promote increased fuel efficiencies of the ground vehicle by modifying an air flow wake generated during the movement of the vehicle in a forward direction. The system includes at least one slot jet configured to be located along a rear profile portion of the ground vehicle. The at least one slot jet is configured to provide a continuous flow of air at a non-zero velocity when the ground vehicle is moving in a forward direction, the non-zero velocity being at least partially directed in a rearward direction with an output velocity less than a velocity at which the ground vehicle is moving in the forward direction, but sufficient to modify the air flow wake generated by the movement of the ground vehicle in the forward direction.

Grouting compositions

An composition is provided which comprises a first component and a second component in which the first component comprises a peroxide, a liquid which comprises water, a sugar, and a solid particulate; and the second component comprises a polymer, a crosslinking agent, and a solid particulate. Also disclosed are processes for reducing fluid loss in a grouting composition and for anchoring a reinforcing member in a hole using the composition disclosed above.

A process is disclosed for separating HF from organics by passing a mixture of HF and organics through a column or bed containing a polymer which sorbs the HF leaving an essentially pure organic stream. The HF may be recovered from the polymer, or the organics may be recovered with reduced HF concentration. The HF and organics may form an azeotropic or azeotrope-like mixture.

Organic separation from HF

A process for separating and recovering an organic phase (e.g., fluorocarbons such as chlorofluorocarbons, hydrochlorofluorocarbons, hydrofluorocarbons and perfluorocarbons) from a feed stream of a mixture of fluorocarbons and hydrogen fluoride, wherein the mixture is characterized as forming at least one azeotrope or azeotrope-like composition involving at least one fluorocarbon and hydrogen fluoride, by passing the fluorocarbon/HF mixture feed stream through the feed side of a semipermeable membrane unit and then further separating a fluorocarbon-depleted hydrogen fluoride permeate stream and a fluorocarbon enriched residual stream exiting the membrane unit by conventional distillation. An essentially pure fluorocarbon phase and hydrogen fluoride phase are recovered from the distillation with the azeotrope or azeotrope-like distillate being recycled to the inlet of the semipermeable membrane unit.
