Hinged ankle brace

A hinged ankle brace including a foot bed member and an ankle cuff which are hinged together by flexible joint members. The flexible joint members yieldably resist hinged movement between the foot bed member and the ankle cuff in a plantarflexion and dorsiflexion direction. Disc-shaped spacer-washers are positioned at the outer sides of the flexible joint members. The design of the upper ends of the medial and lateral wings of the foot bed member and the ankle cuff permits a limited amount of inversion and eversion movement between the foot bed member and the ankle cuff. The flexible joint members and the spacer-washers also permit a limited amount of inversion and eversion between the foot bed member and the ankle cuff.

The ankle brace is configured to permit a person wearing the brace to position the same on a shoe.

A multi-layered orthosis designed to stabilize the human shoulder joint. A base harness includes a shoulder enclosure, an anterior panel, and a posterior panel. An adjustable break separates free ends of the anterior and posterior panels which are distal to the shoulder enclosure. The base harness is applied to a patient by slipping the shoulder enclosure around the affected shoulder. Anterior and posterior straps are passed over the deltoid region of the affected shoulder and secured to the base harness. An additional large strap is placed over the anterior and posterior straps.

Shoulder stabilizing orthotic

A shoulder stabilizer system having a chest portion extending around the chest of the athlete, at least one shoulder portion, and an arm portion proximate the shoulder portion for substantially coveting the axilla and the upper arm of the injured shoulder. The garment has an inside surface constructed of a rubberized material for gripping the skin of the athlete and an outside surface constructed of a loop material for engaging with the hook portion of the hook and loop fastener. One or more elastic straps are strategically attached to the garment for limiting or assisting the movement of the shoulder joint. A bifurcated elastic strap may be used for generating complementary forces relative to a single anchor point.
