A device for indirectly cooling a battery module of an eco-friendly vehicle is provided that cools the battery module using an interfacial plate into which a heat pipe is inserted to maximize battery heat emission performance and simultaneously prevent degradation of battery performance. A thermally-conductive interfacial plate in which a heat pipe is embedded by over-molding is disposed between battery cells and a heat sink, which is a condensation unit, integrally connected to an upper end of the heat pipe is disposed in a cooling air flow path to improve contact strength between the interfacial plate and the battery cells. A planar heat emitter is disposed between the battery cells where the interfacial plate is not disposed to heat the battery to a proper-level temperature in a cold-start environment and a low-temperature environment, thereby improving battery performance and preventing degradation in vehicle power.

Disclosed is a method for preparing hollow carbon fibers having an empty space in the cross section thereof. More specifically, the disclosed method includes preparing a spinning solution of an acrylonitrile-based polymer having a viscosity ranging from 2000 to 5000 poise at room temperature; spinning the prepared spinning solution using a spinneret designed for spinning hollow fibers; super-drawing and drawing spun fibers to prepare hollow precursor fibers; and stabilizing and carbonizing the hollow precursor fibers to prepare the hollow carbon fibers. The hollow carbon fibers obtained by the disclosed method have a lower specific gravity by 10 to 50% than conventional hollow carbon fibers (solid), but have similar mechanical properties to the conventional fibers. Furthermore, in the method, the diameter of carbon fibers can be adjusted. Thus, it is possible to widen the application of hollow carbon fibers.

Disclosed is a method for preparing lactide by using a solvent. According to the method, since an ionic liquid is used as a solvent in a second step in the course of preparing lactide, it is possible to secure mobility of the resulting reactant, and decrease a reaction temperature. In addition, the ionic liquid absorbs moisture generated during the reaction, and thus prevents degradation of lactide which is susceptible to moisture. Furthermore, to the present method allows for the preparation of lactide successively through the continuous supply of lactic acid oligomers. Because the use of an ionic liquid minimizes the contamination of a reactive group with by-products, the use of a solvent for reactor washing is unnecessary. Further, owing to a high boiling point of the ionic liquid, the ionic liquid can be easily harvested and recycled.

The present invention provides a method of preparing lactide with a high yield from lactate obtained through a fermentation process. In certain embodiments, the invention provides a method of preparing high-purity lactide with a high yield, wherein the method comprises treating lactate with a specific solvent, using a catalyst, and phase-separating the resultant. In accordance with the invention, costs for manufacturing polylactic acid can be considerably reduced.

The method comprises: adding and mixing a culture medium, microorganism and sugar in a fermenter; passing a fermentation liquor through a microorganism filtration unit to remove microorganisms; and selectively absorbing and separating lactic acid from filtered liquid using a lactic acid absorption resin. The apparatus includes a fermenter for lactic acid fermentation; a filtration unit for removing a microorganisms from the fermentation liquor; and a lactic acid absorption resin for selectively absorbing lactic acid from the filtered liquid.

Method and apparatus for producing lactic acid

Disclosed is a method for preparing hollow carbon fibers having an empty space in the cross section thereof. More specifically, the disclosed method includes melt-spinning an acrylonitrile-based polymer by using a supercritical fluid as a plasticizer; drawing spun fibers to prepare hollow precursor fibers; and stabilizing and carbonizing the hollow precursor fibers to prepare the hollow carbon fibers. The hollow carbon fibers obtained by the disclosed method have at least a 10 to 50% lower specific gravity than conventional hollow carbon fibers (solid), but have similar mechanical properties to the conventional fibers. Furthermore, the diameter of carbon fibers can be adjusted, thereby making it possible to widen the application of hollow carbon fibers.

Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a polylactic acid composite composition, and a polylactic acid composite composition formed thereby. More particularly, there is disclosed a method for manufacturing a polylactic acid composite composition including: melting and blending a composition containing 60-80 wt % of a poly(-lactic acid) resin, 15-30 wt % of a poly(-lactic acid) resin and 5-10 wt % of a poly(ethylene-alkyl acrylate-glycidyl methacrylate) resin at 190-195&#xb0; C.; and injecting the resulting melt in a mold whose surface temperature is 100-110&#xb0; C. The present invention provides a material having superior heat resistance, impact strength and tensile strength by blending the PLLA resin, the PDLA resin and the poly(ethylene-alkyl acrylate-glycidyl methacrylate) resin at specific proportion, under controlled processing and molding conditions. The polylactic acid composite composition prepared according to the present invention can replace the petroleum-based general-use polymer resins and engineering plastic materials that have been used for automobile parts with the environment-friendly biomass-based biomaterials, and may be usefully utilized for automobile interior and exterior parts.

The present invention relates to a polypropylene-polylactic acid composite composition comprising a mixture of polypropylene resin and polylactic acid resin, wherein ethylene-octene copolymer grafted by anhyrdrous maleic acid, polylactic acid resin grafted by anhydrous maleic acid, polyethylene-glycidyl methacrylate resin and talc particles are added thereto.
