A display driver and display driving method process display data received from a central processing unit (CPU) and output display data voltages. The display driver includes a synchronization controller that sends a reference synchronization signal to the CPU, and controls the CPU to synchronize a write clock with the reference synchronization signal and to send the write clock. A write clock detector detects whether the write clock is received from the CPU and outputs a selection signal in response. A frame memory receives and stores display data of a current frame synchronized with the write clock. A gray-level compensator generates gray-level compensated display data based on the display data of a current frame and display data of a previous frame previously stored in the frame memory. A selector outputs one of the gray-level compensated display data or the display data previously stored in the frame memory as scan data in response to the selection signal.

A method of crystallizing amorphous silicon comprises forming an amorphous silicon layer on a substrate; forming an insulating layer on the amorphous silicon layer; forming a heat distributing metal layer on the insulating layer; and forming a thermite layer on the heat distributing metal layer. Ignition heat is then applied to ignite the thermite layer and generate sufficient localized exothermic heat from the ignited thermite layer so as to crystallize the amorphous silicon layer. The substrate beneath the amorphous silicon layer can be a heat sensitive substrate which is not substantially deformed by the localized crystallizing heat applied to the top portion of the amorphous silicon layer by way of the heat distributing metal layer and the insulating layer.

A source driver includes a control unit, a data selecting unit, a gamma circuit, a level shifter and a driving buffer unit. The control unit compares a frame count value with a predetermined value N, where N is a natural number larger than two, and outputs a data select signal and a driver control signal based on the comparison. An exemplary embodiment of the present invention provides a pulse generator generating a control signal to control a latch unit included in a source driver for sequentially latching input data applied to a source data line of a display device, wherein the pulse generator includes a latch circuit latching an input signal in response to an N-divided clock signal and applying the latched input signal as an output signal, and a logic unit generating a pulse signal by logically multiplying the input signal by the N-divided clock signal, wherein the output signal is provided as an input signal to the latch circuit of another pulse generator, and the pulse signal is provided to the latch unit as the control signal.

A liquid crystal display (LCD) source driving circuit having a reduced circuit footprint. A plurality of the LCD source driving circuits are typically disposed along a side of an LCD panel and drives the LCD panel in response to digital image signals, such as color signals R, G, B, and control signals received from a control circuit. There is provided a pulse generator capable of generating a pulse with a reduced number of transistors that toggle in response to a clock signal, thereby reducing power consumption. The pulse generator includes a plurality of unit cells, wherein an nth unit cell (n is a natural number more than 2) generates a pulse in response to a divided-by-N clock signal (N is a natural number), a signal output from an (n&#x2212;1)unit cell and a signal output from an (n+1 )unit cell. The nunit cell is reset or generates the pulse whose width is equivalent to the width of the clock signal, according to the logic level of the signal output from the n+1unit cell.
