A system may include a first content access device that includes a first storage component, a first communications component operable to receive first content, and a first hardware processor operable to access a second content access device, control the second content access device, provide a first content to the second content access device, and swap a presentation of the second content on the second presentation device with a presentation of the first content on the second presentation device. A first presentation device may present the first content. A second presentation device may present the second content. Second storage, communications, and hardware processor components are operable to execute the second set of computer instructions that are substantially similar to the first set of computer instructions may be used.

A system includes a media studio including a processor and a memory. The memory stores instructions executable by the processor. The processor is programmed to receive data indicating a type of event to be recorded, receive one or more media input items from one or more respective media devices, and generate a media output item based at least in part on the one or more received media input items, and further based at least in part on the data indicating the type of event to be recorded and one or more respective locations of the one or more respective media devices.

Processing of multiple media streams

A system includes a computing device including a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor. The processor is programmed to establish, for a recording event, one or more respective communications channels between the computing device and each of one or more media devices; receive one or more media input items from the one or more respective media devices; receive data indicating at least one of a range of capture of the respective media input item relative to a location of the recording event, a quality of the respective media input item, an excitement level of the respective media input item, an identity of the respective media device, and an identity of an operator of the respective media device; and generate a media output item based at least in part on the one or more media input items, and further based at least in part on the data.

A system includes a media studio including a processor and a memory. The memory stores instruction executable by the processor. The processor is programmed to receive one or more media input items from one or more respective media devices, receive data representing a value respectively for one or more characteristics of the respective one or more media input items, and generate a media output item based at least in part on the one or more received media input items, and further based at least in part on the data representing the respective values for the one or more characteristics of the one or more media input items.

A media processing system including a media studio allows the user to bring the studio along to live events. The media studio allows for preview, e.g., simultaneous preview, of multiple media input items (referred to herein as an aggregated media item), generating a media output item based on the multiple media input items, sharing the media output item, and storing the media output item for future viewing, all via a remote operator console. The media studio may be programmed to generate recommendations for the media output item and/or generate the media output item directly based on predetermined rules.

Multimedia systems and related methods and devices are provided for recommending media programs to a user. Viewing characteristics of the user are determined based on usage information detailing preceding viewing sessions for the user. In one or more embodiments, the user's current interest in one or more currently available media programs that originated after the user's preceding viewing session is predicted based on the user's viewing characteristics and the current viewing context, and media programs having the highest predicted current interest are indicated to the user as being recommended.

Methods and systems are provided for placeshifting data. An exemplary method of placeshifting a media program from a source device to a destination device over a network involves obtaining location information associated with the destination device, determining, by a server coupled to the network, one or more recommended media programs available for streaming from the source device in a manner that is influenced by the location information, and providing indication of the one or more recommended media programs to the destination device.

Systems and processes for delivering digital video content based upon excitement data

Some embodiments include a method of operating a computing device for performing solar shading analysis. The method can include: receiving a multimedia message from a mobile device, the multimedia message including a photograph of an image of sky reflected off of a reflective dome attached to an apparatus platform; identifying an unobstructed sky area and an obstructed sky area in the photograph; computing a shading percentage based on relative portions of the unobstructed sky area and the obstructed sky area; and generating a solar analysis report including the shading percentage, in response to receiving the multimedia message.

Methods and systems for solar shade analysis

A device for performing solar shade analysis combines a spherical reflective dome and a ball compass mounted on a platform, with a compass alignment mark and four dots in the corners of the platform. A user may place the device on a surface of a roof, or in another location where solar shading analysis is required. A user, while standing above the device can take a photo of the device. The photographs can then be used in order to evaluate solar capacity and perform shade analysis for potential sites for solar photovoltaic systems. By using the device in conjunction with a mobile device having a camera, photographs may be taken and uploaded, to be analyzed and processed to determine a shading percentage. For example, the solar shade analysis system may calculate the percentage of time that the solar photovoltaic system might be shaded for each month of the year. These measurements and data, or similar measurements and data, may be valuable when applying for solar rebates or solar installation permits.
