An apparatus includes an antenna, RF path, Analog to Digital convertor (ADC), filter, and navigation channel for processing a received GNSS signal based on a navigation clock. A communication modem is configured to receive the signal via a first antenna, RF path, and ADC and process the received signal in order to generate a signal based on a modem clock. The communication modem is further configured to transmit the signal based on the modem clock using a R+1 antenna via a R+1 RF path and a Digital to Analog Convertor (DAC). A multichannel synchronous signal analysis system (MSSAS) receives outputs of the ADCs and processes them using a plurality of decimators and plurality data receivers. Each of the decimators is configured to process the outputs of the ADCs and output data to one of a plurality of data receivers. A CPU is configured to control all of the devices.

A method and apparatus for fast searching GNSS signals performed on a GNSS receiver includes the steps of receiving a signal having a known pseudo random noise code. State information of a code generator is stored when a pseudo random noise code is generated. Several NCO, including a Doppler NCO are used to search GNSS signal for several supposed Doppler's simultaneously. A search window associated with the received signal is reviewed a first time to identify a source of the received signal. After it is determined if a source of the received signal can be identified, the state information is loaded into the code generator prior to reviewing the search window a second time etc. Search windows is shifting by all length PRN Code. The loading of state information allows sequential review of the search window without re-adjustment of a fast search module which speeds the process of analyzing the received signals.

An apparatus for forming wideband pseudo random noise signals includes a set of channels each comprising an NCO having a controlled frequency and phase and a PRN code generator, the NCO generating a strobe that is output to the PRN code generator. The PRN code generator forms a new sequence element of +1 or −1 in response to the strobe. The apparatus also comprises a first modulator having a plurality of weight coefficients, a plurality of multipliers each multiplying one of the weight coefficients, an adder outputting a sum of the plurality of multipliers output signals, and a mixer with a quadrature output signal multiplying the adder's output by sine and cosine of a low intermediate frequency. The apparatus also includes a processor controlling the set of channels, a transceiver module to receive and/or transmit quadrature signals, and an interface connecting the output of the mixer and the transceiver module.

A method of receiving two chip-by-chip multiplexed CSK signals (e.g., GNSS signals) and searching for a non-CSK signal with optimal performance at a given digit capacity of a sampling memory resided in parallel correlators. For CSK signals Prompt, Early and Late results for each of possible code shift are calculated as different sums of four punctured convolutions. Depending on configuration, the method allows to receive both multiplexed CSK signals with lesser quality or one of the CSK signals with better quality. The method can be implemented as an apparatus with four punctured correlators, a set of multipliers by 1 or 2, another set of multipliers by 1 or 0, summers of four input to one result, a RAM, searchers of maximum, and conditional commutators.

A universal multi-channel receiver for receiving and processing signals from different navigation systems is provided. The universal receiver is implemented as an ASIC receiver with a number of universal channels. The receiver with universal channels is capable of receiving and processing signals from navigation satellites located within a direct access zone. The universal receiver has a plurality of channels that share the same memory. The universal receiver can determine its coordinates using any of the existing navigation systems (GPS, GLONASS, Beidou and GALILEO). The receiver can receive and process any (PN) signals.

A method for receiving and processing satellite navigation signals includes receiving the navigation signals; converting the navigation signals into digital signals; providing a clock signal to all channels that process the digital signals; generating frequency division signals; selecting a channel frequency division signal from the frequency division signals based on which ADC is used to convert the satellite navigation signals into digital signals; connecting the channel to the ADC; generating code frequency signal and base carrier frequency signal using a net accumulation signal; processing the digital signal in the channel to produce digital quadrature signal components of the digital signal based on the code frequency signal and the base carrier frequency signal; using a tick signal that represents 2&#xd7;clock signal as a temporary time scale for control of the channels for determining digital signal phase differences between the channels; and outputting coordinates based on the quadrature components.

Methods and receivers for processing GNSS signals

Disclosed is a system and method for processing signals received from different global navigation satellite systems. The receiver includes a number of universal digital channels. The universal digital channel can be used to receive and process different code signals of each of the three navigation satellite systems GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO. The universal digital channels have the same structure. Each of them can be tuned to receive different signals. The core of the universal digital channel is a code generator and a universal strobe generator.
