A novel child's bicycle seat/rack assembly is provided. The seat is capable of slidable attachment to a touring rack of the type including a substantially rectangular frame formed from struts. The seat has integrally-formed channels for slidably engaging the struts and forward and rear integrally-formed, latches adapted to releasably engage the struts so as to lock the seat member against rearward movement relative to the rack. A locking wedge is provided to secure a latch against unintentional flexing and disengagement from the strut. A child's seat may have a seat portion and a back portion pivotably attached to one another. The seat also may have a grab bar and a seat stand.

A device and method for encouraging proper timing compliance in accordance with a medication prescription regimen. The device is preprogrammed so as to be tailored for the particular prescription regimen to be complied with. Appropriate circuitry is provided in order to generate a dosage signal, which dosage signal persists and changes in an easily recognizable manner until compliance with that dosage requirement is indicated by interacting with the device. Also included is circuitry for prompting compliance with refill requirements of the prescription. The device includes a casing which can have members for facilitating stand-up display or hang-up display of the device.

The present invention provides a bicycle rack having a use position wherein it is attached to a bicycle and supported substantially above a wheel of the bicycle. Additionally, the rack can be disassembled and stored or packaged in a substantially planar position. The rack includes two main structural components. First, a rack shelf is provided having a platform and a leg channel extending downward therefrom. Second, a substantially U-shaped support member is detachably locked to the rack shelf and includes two support legs connected by a center beam. The center beam engages a bottom surface of the platform and the support legs engage the leg channel.

A locking member for releasably securing a bicycle to a carrier on a motor vehicle. The locking member can be quickly and easily slid onto a support arm of the carrier, adjustably positioned along the length of the support arm, and releasably secured to the arm by a simple rotational movement of an eccentric locking sleeve. The device includes an upper channel surface, surrounding the locking sleeve, on which the top tube of the bicycle frame rests and a second rigid pivotal member with a releasable strap engaging either the seat or down tube of the bicycle frame. The pivotal attachment of the first and second rigid members allows virtually any angular relationship between the members so as to securely engage the respective tubes of the bicycle frame.

A collapsible carrier adapted for use on the rear portion of a motor vehicle has an outer frame member, an inner frame member and two support arms. The frame members and support arms depend radially from hub assemblies. The angular relationship of the frame members and support arms may be adjusted by small increments and locked at various angular relationships.

Bicycle carrier

A hand pump having a cylinder and piston in which the piston head is formed with an annular channel having an opening in the base of the annular channel in free communication with the interior of a hollow piston rod. A pair of radially-projecting stops extend outwardly from the base of the channel adjacent the opening. A pair of O-rings are positioned within the channel with one on either side of the stops with the O-rings having an inner diameter closely fitting the surface of the base and an outer diameter when in an unstressed position engage in a sliding relation the inner surface of the cylinder. Chambers are formed on either end of the piston head and are provided with valve inlets. In operation the O-rings are alternately flexed about the stops to create an air passage between the flexed O-ring and the inner surface of the cylinder depending upon the relative direction of movement of the head to the inner surface of the cylinder wall, whereby air may be forced from one or the other chambers through the hole and into the hollow piston rod.

A lock having a shackle and housing in which the shackle is a symmetrical, U-shaped member with spaced, parallel, identically configured legs having free ends, and the housing has a pair of spaced openings in one side thereof for receiving the free ends of the shackle. Either end of the shackle may be inserted into either opening, and detent means are provided in the housing in association with the openings to retain the ends of the shackle in the openings. One of the detent means is fixed and the other has a movable portion to enable the associated end of the shackle to be engaged and disengaged relative thereto. A lock mechanism in the housing is operable to secure the movable detent means against movement to lock the shackle in the housing. In one form of the invention, a reinforcing sleeve is placed around the housing in the area of the lock mechanism to prevent damage to the housing and lock mechanism.
