The present invention is a Multiple Target Doppler Tracker which tracks a plurality of components, including debris and submunitions of a munition burst apart above the ground. A plurality of transmitters transmits constant frequency (CW) signals towards the burst event of the munition and a plurality of receivers receive the signals reflected from the components. The signals received by the receivers are processed into frequency spectra. The spectra are analyzed to determine the path of a selected number of components. Using the path information the selected components are tracked with tracking devices.

Multiple target doppler tracker

A reliable indication of temperature-compensated pressure is provided from each of the wheels of a vehicle to an operator within the vehicle. A piezoresistive transducer bridge is supplied by a constant current source in one embodiment, and by a voltage of constant amplitude in another embodiment. Voltage to the bridge is reversed on a periodic basis. The use of constant current enables compensation for temperature-induced drift in transducer bridge output. The use of constant voltage enables compensation for ambient temperature, and provides an absolute, rather than a relative indication of pressure or 'flatness' within the tire. Voltage polarity reversal permits compensation of amplifier offset voltage. Energy is transmitted to an from the wheel by means of a tuned circuit which is excited by a primary coil when the vehicle's engine is running. The secondary coil mounted on the wheel may be either short-circuited or selectively opened and closed to alter the operation of the primary coil, thus providing an indication of tire pressure, that indication being detected and processed by suitable microcomputer circuitry which may exist on board the vehicle. Most of the active circuit elements of the invention may be implemented in a single monolithic integrated circuit, which can be attached to a tire valve.

The present invention discloses apparatus for generating a pair of mutually orthogonal signals having a bivariate amplitude distribution compatible with digital processors and having a frequency distribution substantially restricted to a band of frequencies centered on a high (carrier) frequency.

Orthogonal signal generator

A phase shifter control circuit having an integrator circuit for developing as a phase control signal the time integral of an input command or error signal, a reset circuit responsive to the phase control signal for generating a correction signal whenever the phase control signal reaches predetermined limits, and summing circuits for combining the correction signal with the input signal and with the phase control signal whereby the phase control signal is substantially instantaneously adjusted to a value between the predetermined limits.

In a preferred embodiment, the flywheel electric transmission system is made up of three electric machines and a flywheel and is adapted for use in an automobile. The first electric machine is driven or energized by a prime mover such as a heat engine and is selectively clutched to the second machine. The flywheel and the armatures for both the first and second machines rotate as a unit. The third machine is connected to the second machine through gearing and, under the control of a computer, supplies excess electrical power to or consumes excess electrical power from the first and second machines that are functioning as either a motor or generator as required. In a second embodiment, the energy source is a battery pack.

A process of and apparatus for colorimetry, whereby an indicator is added cyclically to a fluid stream to indicate the presence or absence of a condition in the stream. The presence of the condition may be indicated by the formation of a precipitate, a change of color, etc. A light source and photocell are located downstream of the point of addition of the indicator and by the difference in an optical characteristic such as the transmissivity or scattering of the fluid, at one or more wavelengths, due to the introduction of the indicator, a measure is obtained of the degree to which the tested-for condition is present in the fluid.
