A first device may receive information that assigns a function related to network traffic associated with a content delivery network. The first device may implement the function based on the information that assigns the function. The first device may receive the network traffic from the content delivery network and may provide the network traffic to a subscriber device. The first device may provide, to a second device, information associated with the network traffic based on implementing the function. The second device may manage a subscriber session associated with the subscriber device based on the information associated with the network traffic.

Disaggregated broadband network gateway functionality for efficient content delivery network peering

Techniques are described that enable local caching of content data within metro transport networks for delivery to subscribers of ISPs that are connected to metro transport networks. Routers within the metro transport network, including an access router, ISP-facing provider edge routers and one or more caching routers, establish an EVPN within the metro transport network. The access router outputs, within the EVPN and to the caching routers, EVPN route advertisements that advertise network address reachability information of the subscriber devices on behalf of the ISPs. Responsive to subscriber content requests that have been redirected from the ISPs and based on the EVPN route advertisements from the access routers, the caching routers of the metro transport network forward, by the EVPN, content from the local content cache to the access routers for efficient delivery to the one or more of the subscribers.

Content caching in metro access networks

The disclosed apparatus may include a physical link that facilitates communication for a plurality of customer networks connected to a service provider network. The apparatus may also include a network device communicatively coupled to the physical link. The network device may identify first and second route-update messages that advertise a plurality of route targets representing the plurality of customer networks to at least one other network device within the service provider network. The network device may remove a route target from the first route-update message due at least in part to the physical link no longer facilitating communication for a customer network represented by the route target. The network device may then maintain the second route-update message intact despite the removal of the route target from the first route-update message. Various other apparatuses, systems, and methods are also disclosed.

Apparatus, system, and method for preventing unintentional forwarding reconfiguration in network environments

A label switched path (LSP) is established within a network using an MPLS fast reroute bypass tunnel when a resource along a primary path of the LSP has failed but is protected by the MPLS fast reroute bypass tunnel. While establishing the LSP, a network device identifies a failed resource along a primary path of the LSP. In response to identifying the failed resource, the network device determines whether a bypass tunnel exists from the network device to a node along the primary path, wherein the bypass tunnel avoids the failed resource. Upon determining that the bypass tunnel exists, the network device tunnels a message for establishing the LSP to the node over the bypass tunnel.
