For the monitoring of the application of a vacuum to the finished moulds () of a glass moulding machine, in particular of an I. S. machine, an arrangement is proposed which is composed of a vacuum sensor (), which vacuum sensor is arranged in a vacuum line () which charges the finished mould () and which vacuum sensor is designed for pressure measurement and detects a pressure value, which pressure value is transmitted by way of a microcontroller () of an I. S. machine controller () by way of which, in a manner dependent on the measured value, a hollow glass article can be identified as being defective and rejected. The arrangement permits automated monitoring of the vacuum operation and a lessening of the burden on operating personnel, and serves for the automated assurance of product quality.

Arrangement for realizing the vacuum operation in the moulding process of a glass moulding machine

A closing mechanism for the mold halves of an I.S. machine, including two yoke-like mold holders mounted on parallel guides and movable between a closed position and an open position by means of a drive. A spindle transmission is provided laterally to at least one guide, the spindle transmission including a threaded spindle that is connected to the drive via a transmission and is in engagement with two threaded sleeves, each of which is connected to one of the two mold holders via two threaded sections running in opposite directions. By means of the drive, a servomotor, the opening and closing movement of the mold holders is carried out. Two pneumatically actuated piston-cylinder units are provided in order to apply the clamping force required between the mold holders or the mold halves in the closed position.

A valve assembly () which is intended for differentiated individual control of the movement mechanisms of an IS machine and can therefore be used in a modular manner consists of a valve support (') and a head part () which supports two pilot control valves (), two safety valves () and two switching valves as one assembly. By way of actuation of the safety valves (), the feed of control air to the switching valves can be interrupted, which switching valves are assigned, for example, to the opening movement and the closing movement, respectively, of a closing cylinder which is assigned to a preform. The valve assembly has interfaces for connection of control and operating air and for electric connection to a machine controller. If required, the assembly which is designed in this way makes it possible to interrupt the control air in a differentiated way which is related to an individual track, in addition to simple assembly and dismantling.

An apparatus for pushing hollow glass articles from a depositing plate of an IS glass molding machine onto a belt conveyor comprises a transfer pusher (), one end of which is rigidly connected to a vertical shaft () and the other end of which carries an arrangement of pushing fingers for the glass articles. The shaft () is supported in a rotary table () and functionally connected to a first rotary drive () carried by the rotary table while the rotary plate () is mounted on a bell-shaped bearing () supported on a console () by means of a hollow shaft (), namely such that it is functionally connected to a second rotary drive ('). An approximately exponential transfer curve of the pushing fingers that begins at the depositing plate and ends on the belt conveyor and subjects the hollow glass articles to the least possible stress can be realized.

Apparatus for pushing glass articles onto a belt conveyor

A process and a device for pushing hollow glass objects off a glass forming machine onto a moving conveyor belt are disclosed. Each hollow glass object is pushed by a push-off unit from a dead plate along a curved path onto the conveyor belt in such a way that the curved path is brought tangentially to a contact point in a movement direction of the conveyor belt. Subsequent to the contact point each hollow glass object is pushed further by the push-off unit by a further linear path portion in the movement direction of the conveyor belt as far as a release point at which the push-off unit is released from the hollow glass object. The push-off unit is then moved back to dead plate.

Process and device for pushing hollow glass objects from a glass forming machine onto a conveyor belt

A device for transferring an object from a dead plate of an Individual Section glass-forming machine to a conveyor belt is disclosed. The device includes a first shaft rotatable about an axis. A housing is attached to the first shaft. A carrying arm is slidably mounted on the housing and has a finger at one end for engaging the object. A guide piece having a groove is attached to the other end of the carrying arm. A crank arm engages the groove. The crank arm is connected to a second shaft coaxial with the first shaft. The shafts rotate independently of one another. Each shaft has its own drive unit. Rotation of the first shaft rotates the carrying arm about the first axis and rotation of the second shaft causes sliding motion of the carrying arm along its longitudinal axis.

Device for transferring hollow glass objects from a glass-forming machine onto a conveyor belt

Sections () of an I.S. glass forming machine () have a plurality of mechanisms which can be respectively driven by a first drive. Each first drive is allocated a controller which is connected to a first sequencer () via a first bus (). All first sequencers () are connected to a second bus () to which a second sequencer (), a manually-operated device (), a PC () with an Internet connection () and a modem () are connected. Peripheral devices of the I.S. glass forming machine () each have at least one third drive (). Each third drive is connected to a first control device (). In the case of the third drives () associated first control devices () are directly connected to the second bus (), whereas in the other cases a plurality of first control devices () are connected to a third bus () which is connected to the second bus () via a second control device ().

Electronic control for glass moulding machines

An invert mechanism for moving parisons between a pre-forming station and a finishing forming station of a glass forming machine is disclosed. The mechanism is disposed above a cover plate of a frame of the glass forming machine. An electric motor is disposed with its horizontal longitudinal axis above the cover plate. A driven shaft of the electric motor is connected to a horizontal invert shaft by means of a transmission. Between the driven shaft of the electric motor and the transmission a planetary gear is connected.
