In a first aspect, the present invention relates to a perovskite material comprising negatively charged layers alternated with and neutralized by positively charged layers; the negatively charged layers having a general formula selected from the list consisting of: LMX, LMX, and LM'X, and the positively charged layers comprising: one or more organic ammonium cations independently selected from monovalent cations Q and divalent cations Q&#x2032;, or a polyvalent cationic conjugated organic polymer Z, wherein Q, Q&#x2032; and Z comprise each a &#x3c0;-conjugated system in which at least 8 and preferably at least 10 atoms participate, L is a monovalent cation, Mare n independently selected metal cations averaging a valence of two, M&#x2032;are n independently selected metal cations averaging a valence equal to 2+2/n, X is a monovalent anion, and n is larger than 1.

Layered hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite materials

New monomers, polymers, and blends of polymers with an electron acceptor are provided, e.g., for use in a photovoltaic device. The electron acceptor can be a fullerene derivative and the polymer can comprise monomer units according to the formula: wherein L' is L-C(O)O-J, L-C(O)NR&#x2032;-J, L-OCO-J&#x2032;, L-NR&#x2032;CO-J&#x2032;, L-SCO-J&#x2032;, L-O-J, L-S-J, L-Se-J, L-NR&#x2032;-J or L-CN; L is a linear or branched alkylene group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms; J is a hydrogen atom or a linear or branched alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; J&#x2032; is a group having from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, being saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched, optionally comprising a phenyl unit; and R&#x2032; is a hydrogen atom or a linear or branched alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms.

A method is provided for modifying a poly(arylene vinylene) or poly(heteroarylene vinylene) precursor polymer having dithiocarbamate moieties by reacting it with an acid and further optionally reacting the acid-modified polymer with a nucleophillic agent. Also provided are novel polymers and copolymers bearing nucleophillic side groups which are useful as components of electronic devices, e.g. in the form of thin layers.

A technique is described for the preparation of polymers according to a process in which the starting compound of formula (I) is polymerized in the presence of a base in an organic solvent. No end chain controlling agents are required during the polymerization to obtain soluble precursor polymers. The precursor polymer such obtained comprises structural units of the formula (II). In a next step, the precursor polymer (II) is subjected to a conversion reaction towards a soluble or insoluble conjugated polymer by thermal treatment. The arylene or heteroarylene polymer comprises structural units of the formula III. In this process the dithiocarbamate group acts as a leaving group and permits the formation of a precursor polymer of structural formula (II), which has an average molecular weight from 5000 to 1000000 Dalton and is soluble in common organic solvents. The precursor polymer with structural units of formula (II) is thermally converted to the conjugated polymer with structural formula (III). 

Method of preparing derivatives of polyarylene vinylene and method of preparing an electronic device including same

The present invention provides a conjugated polymer with provided thereon at least one molecular imprinted polymer (MIP) and a method for preparing such a polymer. The conjugate polymer provided with at least one MIP according to the invention combines both transducer properties and selectivity properties in one single material. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for use in chemo- or bio-sensors. Furthermore, the conjugate polymer provided with at least one MIP may be used in electronic devices and in chromatography, molecular recognition, selective sample enrichment or in catalysis.

The invention relates to a method for producing derivatives of 4-alkylsulfinyl methylarylene methanols. Derivatives of 4-alkylsulfinyl methylarylene methanols are valuable monomers in the production of conjugated polymers, which are suitable for use as electroluminescent materials.
