A centering device (), provided in the area of a guide plate () of the absorber (), can be caused to mesh with centering pins pointing in the direction of the absorber from the connection head.

A wick for an anesthetic evaporator is provided as a dimensionally stable wick body () transporting anesthetic by means of capillary force is provided. The wick body comprises a hollow cylinder as well as webs by which a gas-carrying cavity is formed.

A filling system for an anesthetic evaporator allows an adapter neck () of a bottle adapter (), which said adapter neck is coded in an anesthetic-specific manner, to be inserted into the filler neck of a filling device in a simple manner. A hinge () is provided between the adapter neck () and the threaded sleeve () of the bottle adapter ().

The interaction between a filling valve () on the filling device and an adapter valve on a bottle adapter has improved anesthetics filling features including radially inwardly directed bars (), which engage (pass into) corresponding slots on the outlet pipe of the bottle adapter. The bars engaged in the slots actuate the adapter valve. The bars are provided on the inner wall of a filler neck ().

A filling system for an anesthetic evaporator is improved such that an anesthetic-specifically coded adapter neck () of a bottle adapter () can be introduced into the filler neck of a filling device. An outer polygon () is provided on the bottle adapter and an inner polygon designed correspondingly thereto is provided on the filler neck as anesthetic-specific codings.

A device for metering anesthetic is provided such that a new anesthetic is immediately available for the metering when the anesthetic is changed. The metering device has an assembly unit that can be removed from the medical apparatus as a module with a reservoir () for a liquid anesthetic, an intermediate container () arranged downstream of the reservoir (), a metering gas source () connected to the intermediate container () and a metering element () for anesthetic on the discharge side of the intermediate container (). A safety filling device for filling a liquid anesthetic into a reservoir of an anesthetic-metering device with a receiving device, which has an inlet opening for a coupling piece or a closing piece. An essentially rigid guide lever is provided in the connection area between the receiving device and the closing piece. A hinge connection is provided which makes possible an axial displaceability of the guide lever within the inlet opening and a rotary movement of the guide lever outside the inlet opening.

A device for mixing anesthetic vapor with a gas according to the bypass principle such that anesthetic gas or liquid anesthetic is prevented from escaping from the evaporator chamber during transportation. The switching on of the anesthetic evaporator takes place under defined pressure conditions in the evaporator chamber. A transport position, which precedes the switch-off position, and in which a ventilating valve of a ventilating line arriving from the evaporator chamber is switched into the switch-off position by the setting member, is provided on the setting member.

A safety filling device for filling a liquid anesthetic into a filling space of an anesthetic evaporator from a storage container by means of a filling adapter, which can be pushed into an insertion opening, with a closing element, which interrupts the flow of liquid anesthetic in a switched-off position, and with a control element, which is movable in a stationary housing and sets the states of switching. A preferential position is set on the closing element during the introduction of the filling adapter into the insertion opening. A follower blocking the switched-off position is provided on the closing element between the housing and the control element, and a coding part, which engages the follower in a manner eliminating the blocking of the closing element in the operating position of the filling adapter, is provided on the filling adapter.

A gas ratio control device for anesthesia apparatus, includes an anesthetic gas feed line, which has, in a series-connected arrangement, a control valve with an inlet chamber, an anesthetic gas-adjusting valve and a first measuring resistance, and an oxygen feed line, which has a second measuring resistance, wherein the dynamic pressure received from the measuring resistances is sent to a proportional element, which controls the control valve. A flow-proportional addition of the anesthetic gas is possible even at low oxygen flow rates. This is achieved by the outlet chamber and the first pressure chamber being connected to one another in one piece in terms of flow. The anesthetic gas-adjusting valve is arranged in front of the inlet chamber of the control valve in terms of flow. A flow resistance is provided between two chambers limited by diaphragms of the proportional element.
