A gas bag module has a generally cylindrical gas generator, at least one igniter and a housing to which the gas generator is secured. The igniter extends radially out of the gas generator and is secured to the housing. A gas bag is arranged in the housing and is clamped between the gas generator and the housing.

An instrument panel for a motor vehicle comprises an ejection channel for a gas bag of a gas bag module. The ejection channel is constructed in one piece with the instrument panel. A mounting plate is provided on the instrument panel, the gas bag module being adapted to be fastened to the mounting plate.

Vehicle instrument panel assembly

A knee restraint device for vehicles comprises a base plate and a knee protector part fastened to the base plate. The knee protector part has a load distributor plate with openings and has a covering of plastic. The covering has a rear face facing the load distributor plate and a front face directed in an opposite direction. The covering is provided with pins formed on the rear face and is fastened in a form-fitting manner to the load distributor plate by the pins projecting through the openings in the load distributor plate. The pins have free ends which are shaped such that the free ends project radially outwards and over the openings.

Knee restraint device for vehicles

A knee restraint device for vehicles has a base, a knee protector component which is movable toward the knees of a vehicle occupant, and a drive structure for driving the knee protector component toward the knees of a vehicle occupant. The drive structure is arranged between the base and the knee protector component. Further, a limiting- and positioning structure is provided for limiting the travel of the knee protector component towards the knees of a vehicle occupant and for positioning the knee protector component relative to the knees of a vehicle occupant. The limiting-and positioning structure is fastened to the base and is constructed in one piece with the knee protector component. The limiting-and positioning structure is deformable on activation of the drive structure and has a predetermined rigidity, this rigidity-being sufficient so as to prevent any change in shape of the limiting-positioning structure under its weight.

Knee-retaining device for a vehicle

The invention relates to a knee restraint device for the knee protection of occupants in motor vehicles, comprising a load distribution plate for direct contact with the knees of the occupant. The knee restraint device further comprises a drive device which in a cage of restraint moves the load distribution plate from a starting position toward the knees up to a restraint position. A retracting device is provided which moves the load distribution plate from the restraint position back toward the starting position.

Protective occupant knee restraint device in a vehicle

A knee protection device for vehicle occupants comprises a gas bag having a gas bag wall with opposing sections. The gas bag, in its installed and inflated state, extends in front of the knees of the occupant of the vehicle, lies against the knees in the case of restraint and is intended to largely prevent the knees from moving forward. The device further comprises means in the gas bag which connect the opposing sections of the gas bag wall. The means are fixed to the sections of the gas bag wall and are arranged in such a way that they counteract a change of shape of the gas bag on plunging in by the knees.

Knee protection device for vehicle occupants

A knee restraint device for vehicles comprises a base, a knee protector component which is movable towards the knees of a vehicle occupant, a drive means which is arranged between the base and the knee protector component, and catching and positioning means which control the movement path of the knee protector component at least in the up/down direction relative to the vehicle and which, in the limit of travel of the drive means, define a predetermined end position of the knee protector component in the space. To provide a knee restraint device which accomplishes the controlling of the movement path and the definition of the end position of the knee protector component and which can be adjusted in a simple manner to various end positions of the knee protector component, the catching and positioning means are arranged outside the drive means and the drive means loosely contacts the knee protector component.
