A method for driving a projection system and a projection system including a phase modulator and at least one amplitude modulator. The phase modulator is configured to generate a highlight image incident on the amplitude modulator, the projector system further includes at least one image sensor configured to receive at least a portion of an illumination pattern substantially equivalent to the illumination pattern incident on the amplitude modulator, and the image sensor is being used to provide feedback to the controller of the projection system to improve the highlights projected by the projection system.

Closed loop driving of a highlighter type projector

A system and method for projecting images including an illumination light beam (emitted by a source) and a collimated light beam (emitted by a laser source). The two light beams being combined into one light via a microlens array combined with a pinhole matrix located in the focal plane of the microlens array. The collimated beam is transmitted through this array and the base beam is reflected therefrom.

System and method for enhanced image projection

A projection screen with micro lenses or micro mirrors for the purpose of suppressing ambient light by means of a patterned layer stack including at least a polarizer and a quarter wave retarder. The projection screen has a surface structure where light from a projector is focussed at positions where the light can escape from the structure and is optionally diffused. The location of the focus positions depends upon the incident angle of the light coming from the projector, and therefore the screen is tailored for a certain projector configuration and projector light direction.

A method and apparatus is described for producing high brightness, e.g. multicolor light, whereby a region of a wavelength conversion element and a light source producing excitation light are moved relative to each other so that said region is exposed to the excitation light at different times and in a progressive movement that scans across a part of the entire surface of the wavelength conversion element. The wavelength conversion element can be cooled by air or with a liquid.
