The present invention relates to a method for moving at least one service or an IP session from a first access to a second access, comprising the following steps: &#x2014;a Gateway, GW, routes () a data packet flow between a Packet Data Network, PDN, and a User Equipment, UE, for said service or IP session over the first access, &#x2014;the GW monitors () the data packet flow between the PDN and the UE to detect the network performance of the first access, &#x2014;the GW&#x2014;moves () the routing of the data packet flow to the second access when the network performance goes below a threshold.

Method and apparatuses for moving a service or IP session from first to second access

A core network access packet data node and a core network access edge node are described herein. The core network access packet data node and/or the core network access edge node is/are adapted to hold or receive access priority related information comprising a subscriber related access allocation priority parameter relating to a subscriber requesting a network resource. Further, the core network access packet data node and/or the core network access edge node is/are adapted to have a preliminary access decision unit being provided for deciding if a network resource request is to be handled. Moreover, the core network access packet data node and/or the core network access edge node is/are adapted to have a final decision unit being provided for making a final decision relating to grant/rejection of a request to be handled, i.e. given preliminary access.

System, arrangements and methods relating to access handling

A method for providing access feedback when a User Equipment, UE, with an established a connection over multiple accesses towards a Gateway, GW, initiates a set-up of a new service for a service session. The method comprises a step where the GW or a Policy and Charging Rules Function, PCRF, initiates a Quality of Service, QoS, resource reservation as a response of the set-up of the new service initiated by the UE. The GW or the PCRF in the QoS resource reservation selects a first access as present access. The method is particularly characterized in a step where the UE rejects said first access as present access and sends a reject message to the GW, wherein the GW or the PCRF as a result of the reject message initiates a new QoS resource reservation selecting a second access as present access.

The present invention handles Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) applications in an efficient manner. The present invention is a session aware Diameter relay agent that correlates sessions that require binding and relay sessions to the same AAA server, such as a Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) server. In one embodiment, the relay agent may be arranged to select a Diameter server and forward the user equipment (UE) request to the respective server while registering the server selection. The Diameter server may be a PCRF server.

Method and system for correlating authentication, authorization and accounting sessions

The present invention relates to a solution for handling an evolved allocation and retention priority in a telecommunications network. The solution is based on obtaining an evolved ARP, obtaining an authorized ARP based on the evolved ARP, and transmitting this authorized ARP to nodes in the network. The present invention relates to a solution for handling customer activity when connecting to a wireless communication network and in particular for statistics of customer activity using the network. System, arrangements and method relating to access handling

The present invention relates to a method for enabling resource allocation for a service data flow between a user equipment () and a gateway in a multiple access environment. The method comprises the steps of:&#x2014;A resource reservation device () receives reservation instructions from a policy control node (). The reservation instructions require dedicated access resources to be reserved for the service data flow.&#x2014;The resource reservation device () reports the result of the resource reservation required by the reservation instructions to the policy control node (). Resource reservation in multiple accesses

A packet data core network node and methods supporting packet data communication are disclosed. In one embodiment, a packet date core network node in a first core network comprises a first communication mechanism for control plane handling and mobility management, a second communication mechanism for user plane management and a mechanism for communication with a dual mode mobile terminal over a first radio network. The packet data core network node comprises or communicates with a mapping function for mapping between first radio bearers used in the first core and radio networks and second radio bearers of a type different from the type of the first radio bearers and used in a second core radio network at handover of a dual mode mobile terminal from the first core network to the second core network or vice versa. Another embodiment is a dual mode mobile terminal including such mapping function.

A policy and charge control (PCC) architecture and method for handling access point name-aggregate maximum bit rate (APN-AMBR) subscription data that is associated with a subscriber regardless of whether the subscriber's User Equipment (UE) is located in an AMBR-capable access area such as an E-UTRAN or in an AMBR non-capable access area such as a 3G SGSN. The PCC architecture includes: (a) a policy server such as a PCRF that installs the APN-AMBR subscription data during an IP session establishment for the subscriber in the IP level convergence point and (b) an IP level convergence point that enforces the APN-AMBR subscription data for a lifetime of an IP session associated with the IP session establishment.
