A lighting device () is disclosed. The lighting device () comprises: a communication unit () for wireless communication between the lighting device () and an external device; a solid-state lighting element () electrically connected to the communication unit (); a heat sink () in thermal contact with the solid-state lighting element (), the heat sink () having a slot () adapted to act as a slot antenna; and a feed antenna () electrically connected to the communication unit (), the feed antenna () having at least one end tip arranged at the slot (a) so as to enable the feed antenna () and the slot () to communicate by proximity coupling.

The present disclosure relates to a color tunable lighting device comprising at least one light source (), a symmetry axis () and an envelope (). The at least one light source () is disposed on a base () extending within a plane and the envelope () is disposed at least above the base () and defines a cavity () extending along the symmetry axis (). The at least one light source () is arranged at a distance X from the symmetry axis () along a radial direction relative to the symmetry axis. The plane is arranged to intersect the symmetry axis (). The distance X may be at least 50% of a total distance between the symmetry axis () and an edge of the envelope (), or a projection of the edge of the envelope () on the plane in which the base () extends, as seen along the radial direction. A curvature of the envelope () is monotonically increasing with an increasing distance from the base ().

Lighting device for a light source

A lens () comprising a centrally extending axis (A) being perpendicular to a lens axis (L) of the lens, the lens being adapted for retracting light rays from a light source positioned off-axis with respect to the centrally extending axis, the lens comprising a first plurality of slits () extending entirely in an interior of the lens and comprising a length (l) extending perpendicular to the centrally extending axis, a width (w) extending parallel to the centrally extending axis and a thickness (t) extending perpendicular to both the length and the width, the first plurality of slits being mutually parallel and covering between 40% and 60% of a plane in which both the centrally extending axis (A) and the length (l) and width (w) of the first plurality of slits () extend.

A lighting control circuit is for controlling a lighting arrangement comprising a set of at least two light sources in parallel. A current driver is used to deliver a drive current to the lighting arrangement. A switch is associated with the second light source, which may for example be provided for color adjustment, and the duty cycle of the switch is controlled as well as the overall drive current setting thereby to control the color or color temperature setting and dimming level of the lighting arrangement. The controller derives the required average output current and the expected average output voltage from the current driver based on the determined duty cycle and the dimming level, and then derives the current driver setting. In this way, the current driver is accurately controlled to deliver the required output. This enables a single stage driver to be used to control the color or color temperature of multiple light source channels, for example in dependence on a dimming level.

Method of controlling a lighting arrangement, a lighting control circuit and a lighting system

The invention provides a lighting unit () comprising a first lighting device (), a second lighting device (), and a control unit () configured to control the lighting devices (), wherein (a) the first lighting device () is configured to provide first lighting device light () having a first spectral distribution with at least two first emission maxima (EM, EM, . . . ) spaced by at least 75 nm, a first color point x1,y1 and a first correlated color temperature T1; (b) the second lighting device () is configured to provide second lighting device light () having a second spectral distribution with at least two emission maxima (EM, EM, . . . ) spaced by at least 75 nm, a second color point x2,y2 and a second correlated color temperature T2; (c) the lighting unit () is configured to generate lighting unit light () comprising one or more of the first lighting device light () and the second lighting device light (); and (d) the first spectral distribution and the second spectral distribution are different with at least one first emission maxima (EM) and at least two second emission maxima (EM,EM) mutually differing at least 10 nm from each other, and wherein one or more of (i) 0.9&#x2264;x1/x2&#x2264;1.1, (ii) 0.9&#x2264;y1/y2&#x2264;1.1, and (iii) 0.9&#x2264;T1/T2&#x2264;1.1 applies.

Switchable high color contrast lighting

A light emitting module (), adapted to produce white output light having an emission peak in the wavelength range from 400 to 440 nm, comprises: &#x22c5;&#x2014;at least one first light emitting element () adapted to emit light having an emission peak in a first wavelength range from 440 to 460 nm; &#x22c5;&#x2014;at least one wavelength converting material () arranged to receive light emitted by said first light emitting element, and being capable of emitting light having an emission peak in the green to red wavelength range; and &#x22c5;&#x2014;at least one second light emitting element () adapted to emit light having an emission peak in a second wavelength range from 400 to 440 nm. The module according to the invention provides white light of acceptable color rendering with a 'crisp white' effect.

A lighting unit comprises a solid state lighting element (). An upper housing () forms a light mixing chamber () over the solid state lighting element () and a loop-shaped antenna () is held by the upper housing (), wherein the upper housing () comprises a reflective inner wall at least where it defines the mixing chamber () and said solid state lighting element () is inside said reflective inner wall. This makes use of the component which defines the mixing chamber () to hold a loop-shaped antenna () in place above the lighting element () and therefore away from the heat generated by the lighting element () and away from any metallic heat sink or heat spreading components ().

A color-adjustable light emitting arrangement is provided. The arrangement includes a solid-state light source adapted to emit light of a first wavelength range; a wavelength converting member arranged to receive light emitted by the light source and capable of converting light of the first wavelength range into visible light of a second wavelength range; and a narrow band reflector arranged in a light output direction from the wavelength converting member to receive light of the second wavelength range, the narrow band reflector being reversibly switchable between a first state in which the narrow band reflector reflects a first sub-range of the second wavelength range, and a second state in which the narrow band reflector reflects a second sub-range of the second wavelength range.

A method for providing a light output from a lighting system () capable of emitting light within a lighting system color gamut () in an x-y color plane, comprising the steps of: receiving () a light output target comprising a target color point () and a target flux; comparing () the target color point with the lighting system color gamut (); and if the target color point is outside of the color gamut: determining () a first approximation color point () inside the color gamut based on a minimization of a distance in the x-y color plane between the target color point and the first approximation color point; determining () a highest possible flux achievable by the lighting system at the first approximation color point; if the highest possible flux achievable by the lighting system at the first approximation color point is equal to or larger than the target flux, control () the lighting system to provide light defined by the first approximation color point and the target flux; and if the highest possible flux achievable by the lighting system at the first approximation color point is lower than the target flux, determining () a second approximation color point () at which the lighting system is capable of providing the target flux based on a minimization of a distance in the x-y color plane between the first approximation color point and the second approximation color point; and controlling () the lighting system to provide light defined by the second approximation color point and the target flux.
